  1. the sections which darling and taylor woodrow build, in our opinion, look better than any other sections of seven meadows. also, the fact that darling and taylor woodrow seem to take extreme pride in their home building by the way the houses look completed. finally, the other homes are nothing to look at; they are just plain cookie cutter designs like all of weekely's subdivisions. but I wanted to know if darling and taylor woodrow had any complaints against them, or if there is anything a buyer should be weary of from these two builders
  2. there is a central market HEB going up off 249 near the new kickerillo development (Vintage) and they are planning on turning the old HEB pantry on dairy ashford and memorial into something larger (taking over the Eckerds or now CVS next door). Hopefully it will become a central market as well because of the area it caters to but likely not.
  3. my family is looking to buy in the seven meadows community of katy and we have narrowed it down between 2 builders, taylor woodrow and darling homes. I was wondering if there have been any complaints filed against them or if the board as any info on the two builders besides for what is posted on Better Business Bureau. Thanks.
  4. the only other parallel street would be the briar forest-san felipe interchange, but making a primarily residential area road one way is extremely difficult for those residents. likely royal oaks could be royally (excuse the pun) screwed if westheimer and richmond were made into one-way streets.
  5. is that huge vacant track to remain empty on the south side of the freeway at hwy 6? the before photos are extremely old. they still show the old conoco station and they do not even have the new post office in the photos (south of hwy 6)
  6. st michael's will want to have some creative control over the project like every church wants in every project around town. (well at least every well recognized catholic church) my primary concern is the displacement of 5050 ambassador way residents (hopefully it will not happen) but wulfe needs pay for his newly acquired $3 mil house in memorial
  7. s post lane is east of ambassador. I saw the map, but St Michael's backyard (bazaar area) sits directly west of the center now. also, Wulfe has been in talks with 5050 Ambassador in order to get them to sell but the residents will not, but nothing more has been said to them. both St Michael's and 5050 are watching the project closely.
  8. On Grisby road, a street that intersects the BP energy enter with addicks howell in west houston (memorial west), there is a large vacant lot which sits on grisby and ends at the feeder road. a few days ago a sign was placed out in front entitled "notice of variance" I was wondering if anyone on the board knew anything of the matter. Tomorrow at 2:30 in the 900 Bagby building is when the hearing is going to be held regarding the property. I am likely to attend but did not know what to expect or if there have been any leads to future freeway construction concerning this area. Since a new post office (built in 1998) sits on the property already, I would find it difficult to assume that it would be to extend the freeway but I may be wrong. I am a resident of a nearby community so I would like to know what is to become of the vacant lot. Hopefully you know more about variances that I do. Thanks.
  9. hopefully this is the case. I just looked at the map, but wulfe has been trying to force sales in 5050 ambassador way. I believe he wants to tear it down for blvd place to commence. St Michael's backyard is right on the property so that may cause even more problem over construction. Hopefully, they can just revitalize the Eatzi's center and the old Sak's center without tearing everything down and causing harm to St Micael's and 5050 ambassador way. I just want construction to start on city centre
  10. so to expand s post oak to ambassador way they have to tear down both 5050 ambassador way (a luxury mid-rise) and they have to tear up St Michael's Catholic Church's backyard. I really dont think they can do either. The project is likely dead until they get a new rendering.
  11. I havent heard of this building in galveston. who is supposed to construct it? http://search.har.com/engine/indexdetail.c...=1&backButton=Y
  12. thanks. are there any renderings of metronational's portion of the land in that vicinity?
  13. it sort of looks like the one office building in greenway plaza next to the edwards over there (on richmond). its likely to be another orion or more along the lines of the monaco.
  14. I know that it has been posted on the forum before but I could not find the topic discussing the development of the area which used to be town and country mall, and the area on the other side of memorial city mall (just east). as I remember it was supposed to be an expansion of the open air town and country village maybe and some residential and commercial towers. most importantly there was supposedly going to be a new ampitheatre and expansion of memorial herman. if someone could give me the link or reply to this post that would be great. thanks
  15. you know what the heck ever happened to this place? it used to be in the second story of memorial city mall. before or after it was called kids kingdom, it was called jungle gym. the entrance to the park was from the food court by way of a massive stair case. I just remember memorial city mall walling up the entrance and building a blimpe outside of it. when I was a kid I always wondered if the stair case was still behind that blimpe. does anyone know what happened to it? and the answer is not exhilarma or whatever arcade they have on the other side of the food court now because that was always there. they just made it smaller with the expansion and addition of lord and taylor or what is now jc penny. the other arcade used to located next to picadilly (where the new theater is being built), it was demolished to make way for the sears expansion in the mid 90s. just wondering if there is still a mystery stair case behind what is now probably a sbarro
  16. Champs on the katy freeway just before gessner and memorial city mall or rotessori (spelling?) for beef and bird on wilcrest after briar forest
  17. there was sign off westlake park blvd and memorial dr (in memorial west where the bp and exxon hq are) saying that a 6.5 or so acre track of land was for sale priced around $9.4 million. the sign is now gone and I did not know if anyone knew if the area was sold or the sign was just taken down. a new development there would look great because that large of a vacant lot always looked weird off memorial dr.
  18. there has been a sign for over a year now off the north i-10 feeder past barker cypress for a new texas childrens hospital. has anyone heard anymore about this new development? and is interfin ever going to develop the land north of i-10 at grand parkway because that was where the 'new' galleria was supposed to be built. I think they are in impending lawsuits with katy mills mall, but I am not too sure.
  19. are they adding to the conoco phillips building on n dairy ashford? ...and what all is going into the new bally total fitness retail park in park row close to barker cypress? memorial construction: theres a new construction in the memorial west area near hwy 6. its a retail center across the street from bp and over looks the lake for global sante fe. it is not at full capacity and I was wondering where you could find whose leasing the building out or if you guys knew anything.
  20. HISD schools being torn down (one on San Felipe and the other on 10620 briar forest-walnut bend). what is going on in these locations? new schools or new development?
  21. it could be 810, but its on the corner of eldridge and memorial behind the new CVS no thats the new hq or lofts of sueba on eldridge and enclave. this building was just torn down the other day to make way for something and I didnt know if anyone knew anything.
  22. an old commercial building was torn down and I didnt know if you guys knew anything about a possible project being undertaken in the memorial west area? tell me if theres anything new or is this just immenient domain. Denison
  23. Does any one know where a potential buyer could get info for this building? I mean, does any one know if there is a sales center on site or if it is done through an agency like Personette & Associates for the Montebello. Just wondering.
  24. Enron Tower At 1200 Smith St. And 1400 Louisiana St. No matter what the company did, those 2 buildings are the best! I think its 1200 Smith, the older one, is a 50 story high-rise with all mirrored glass, then 1500 Louisiana is a 46-48 high-rise. They have an all glass sky walk connecting the two. Its awesome! http://www.photohome.com/pictures/texas-pictures/houston/enron-center-5a.jpg http://www.photohome.com/pictures/texas-pictures/houston/enron-center-14a.jpg
