  1. wolfe elementary was never addicks elementary. they tore down addicks and built wolfe right next door. they always did talk about how on the day wolfe opened all the students from addicks had to carry their desks over to the new wolfe elementary. addicks isd was split between katy, spring branch, and houston isds (I think cy-fair as well). it used to stretch from the southern border of westheimer to the northern border of clay rd (or higher) and to the eastern border of kirkwood and western border of barker cypress. there used to be a school at the end of dairy ashford and westheimer (where the boarded up krogers is now and also the forest park west cemetery) ...but wolfe needs to be incorporated into spring branch isd because when I was goin to school I wanted to take the 5 min route to stratford than the 15-20 min route to Taylor. katy will likely never give up wolfe because that is some of its highest tax revenue. the entire area of 77079 which is zoned to wolfe and katy isd has very few houses appraised under $250-300k on the hcad rolls. anymore ideas on what they could do to wolfe? it would be greatly appreciated...
  2. wolfe elementary needs to be shut down (471 kids!). my god that is nothing. over half of those are bused into the school from bear creek and glen karin. wolfe needs to annexed by spring branch isd or... if katy wants to make a grab, they can annex all the schools east of kirkwood ...I think the first idea makes more sense
  3. west houston/memorial will not stand for deplorable conditions in any of its neighborhoods. even though this is south of the bayou, memorial should still step up to help the apartments in the area out. ...I mean even north of the bayou the apartments on thicket or nottingham oaks trail and memorial. those are getting worse and worse. west houston chamber needs to take an active role in the managemnet of the apartment complexes which are becoming older and older.
  4. theyre moving the kendall branch location to the northwest corner of eldridge and enclave. parkway investments owns the property now. its a wooded lot that backs up to the enclave lake neighborhood. briar forest/lakeside/memorial will all be the main access to this library. what they need to build in those locations is just housing. theres no need for anything else. unless its a park because those are always needed.
  5. well he is a cocaine dealer gone straight. you gotta love the blow.
  6. how can they revitalize the center? besides for adding a starbucks and a jamba juice. ...and I dont think memorial needs another nail salon or dry cleaners
  7. when I was there I saw her having dinner with her fam. I tried hitting on her but it didnt take. why do you have to be so mean slyvia?
  8. the new "next galleria" developement north of i-10 on 99 is going to be great so that could help the demographic a bit. since interfin is also supposed to build residential communities next to the development. spring branch offers nothing in sorts like that, and north of i-10 will also be the texas childrens hospital. the area is not as bad as spring branch, but if still more apartments and shabby construction continues it could engulf the area into a parallel of spring branch.
  9. on westheimer just west of dairy ashford... thats all I have to say
  10. the center it was in was likely creating no business. lets face it the only thing that strip center offered was hungrys. the one across the street is the same thing (yet they did just remodel it). they need to expand and next to the randalls is good start because of the influx of the rich crowd that frequents the randalls center, carmelos, and the starbucks on memorial at dairy ashford. They will do well, but likely the old center will go belly up because of them leaving. Lets face it, Nori's is not that good of sushi.
  11. so i dont understand...what is goin in there at ten oaks? a neighborhood community or other development? ...and are they ever goin to build the texas childrens hospital there?
  12. memorial thicket, fleetwood, marywood ...I live in Barkers Landing
  13. the surrounding neighborhoods are one-entry only or gated communities. would that have an adverse effect or be more in our favor? thanks for the reply.
  14. posted this on the city hall forum... can a neighborhood buy back public streets from the city of houston? this is in order to make the neighborhood a more private, gated community. the streets are not major but rather normal everyday neighborhood streets
  15. what about the oxford? isnt this building right next to it? ...talk about things that need to be torn down
  16. the stabbing = all the members of AA who frequent the establishment at 3 am in the morning. most come from the heights and such areas and are tired of the white boy gangster mentality of katy. its just another reason why the world is better off without AA
  17. hungrys is moving into a new locale on memorial dr just west of dairy ashford (where the souper salad place used to be). bigger digs but better location?
  18. villa roma is no more. it is closing to become a mexican restaurant. ...cant really see the nyc theme for a mexican place
  19. wow...you guys are being really mean, but likely I have never met you so it does not really matter. I would say UH needs something more than greenery. they actually need plants that stay alive and bloom. I can't say anything for the rest of the campus, but near the admissions office (adjacent to Roy G Cullen, I believe) it does not look too good. what is the new center they have which uses a more modern architecture? is it the new biological research lab? that looks amazing. allison did a lot for him in the way of new structures thats for sure (hence the new law center) I would say Rice is first in looks and then UST. all others look nearly the same (never been to cy-fair, but on advertisements it does look mighty fancy) was oh snap ever a gay word? ...and I hope to pursue an MD so inter-office politics is out of the way. though I would like to fetch lunch for some corporate VP who thinks he was in line of the promotion and not the narrow-minded Rice alum. we could converse over how Rice offers a beautiful campus but nothing in the form of a bus degree or student oriented college life (the pub needs to move to St Thomas). so why did the guy the promotion? two words: sexual favors. god, you Rice people are disgusting. when was the last time students actually skinny dipped in the Dean's pool? regretfully, he moved off campus, but you still have yours truly to thank for the streaking of the shell auditorium. -your welcome by the way once again, st thomas = awesome
  20. ut and a&m offer business degrees? I thought they just offered drinking contests. ohhh snap! ...yea that is going to suck, but I'll just show them up with a masters. in your face...world!
  21. sorry I was wrong. it was 40 acres (just doesnt look that large) and they plan on turning it into a parking garage and likely more development for the corridor. on the east side of BP is another building going up and I did not know who was going to occupy it. anyone know?
  22. well...I'm not in 7th grade but I wish I were (man those were some great times!). you need to lighten up though. I'm sorry you didnt go to st thomas. I know you wish you did, but you didnt. dont take it out on me. gosh! st thomas = awesome
