Sounds like 38 is the new 24...

Word from the realty report is Hines is asking $50 a sf for this one.

You have no idea what they're burying.
And in related news, someone in town might have Ebola.

I don't ever remember that lake being there. Must have been the trees. Everything is so lush and green - like Kuala Lumpur.

I've long thought UH should by Christus St Joseph and just take that over.
Christus is a big organization in its own right, I don't think they are strapped or looking to sell. The holy fathers in Denver would not agree to it.

One of these towns is going to rule the future. SF is the pretty-boy, Houston is like a growing teenager...

I think it looks okay. It's not tan. Or orange.

I'm willing to bet it will be in the Med Center - maybe even on Yellowstone.

That's insane.
That's Venice.

Freeway architecture at its worst.
The glass/prettier side with the garage hidden faces the highway. The concrete/stucco blank walled garage and boring 1970s institutional hospital side faces the Montrose neighborhood behind it.
Maybe they'll great creative and cover the Montrose facing side with murals, a la Mexico City.

I thought Stream had a number of projects in the pipeline and financial backing. Did they just lose interest?

I've wondered that also. I hope that all of these office buildings going up along the Katy freeway don't make it more difficult for the downtown office proposals to get started.
The latest lease to the latest previously unknown oil company (EMAS) cleared 100,000 sf of space out of City Center Five. That building is now half occupied.

Don't tell the Saudis, but I think I saw elements of that design in an Israeli embassy once before.

What Super Bowls? There are rumors SxSW is getting too big for Austin and is looking for additional space...not necessarily in Austin.

I went back and reviewed the original proposal; the design was actually not the greatest even back then. But the nifty sleight of hand with the garage on the first few floors appears to have shrunk the leasable space.
And the name change sucks.

Just threw up a little...
That's okay, MetroNational is throwing up an office building over at Memorial City.

At this point, it's only a problem if we're adding 4m sf a year. I don't think those buildings will come out of the ground that fast.

As long as the exterior lighting features a Bat-signal. To compete with the Williams Tower beacon.

You might not see it because of the forest.
And you won't be able to see the forest for the trees?
I also remember the ZaZa was supposed to be the big attraction. At this point, I think the Alessandra downtown will get built first.

Look - Randall has good ideas, and a dream. Just not great execution.
So does that mean that his plan for 10-story anatomically correct statues of Greek gods and goddesses around the base would be a bit off-putting?

I had forgotten about this one. Too many developments to remember and many times its easy to forget about them if we are not here talking about them everyday.
Yes - in addition to this one, there is Amegy Bank's building on the old Micro Center site. (To say nothing of Skyhouse, the Davis condo and all the projects on the other side of the freeway).

Lower income residential is exactly what downtown and the nearby areas need. Something catering to the $2500 to 3000 a month crowd.
You guys are a bit rich for my blood. High end in downtown Fort Worth can be had for $1800 a month.

The apartments are directly behind (south of) the HEB
Looks like the Tom Bradley International HEB.

So does anyone want to spill the beans on SSP?

A bit related --
I went looking for a previous thread on the High School for Health Professions after seeing the following item in the HBJ. WHR, which seems to have done quite a few medical and educational projects (and just got acquired) is designing it:

As is typical of HBJ, their pictures can't be displayed elsewhere...
