Is it just me or is this building turning out to be far more dominating than I thought it would be? This is like the Heritage Plaza of this building cycle....sort of the last big hooray before all the cranes come down on this cycle.

I found the master plan (prolly antiquated by now and likely has changed by now) to The Woodlands Town Center. As you can see, where the Dick's is currently being constructed is a parking garage in the rendering. That said, the parking garage on the east side of Dillards is there and is currently coming online.

Nobody would pay $10 million (or whatever Hines paid for the Chron building) to own a building that they're going to have to pay millions more to have demolished just to turn it into a parking lot. Thank GOD Hines are the ones who bought the lot. I suspect it'll sit as a lot for a year or two but you can bet for sure that somewhere in Houston, in a corner office on the upper floors of a building that there is a sketch or model of a new skyscraper that will eventually adorn that block. Anybody?

Air New Zealand was also a surprise because a lot of people thought ORD would get the nod over Houston. That however only made more sense being that by the time they get to the US, they're probably already running on fumes and out of an abundance of safety, Houston was the obvious choice probably. For the last few years, we've added foreign flags to Terminal D. Last year alone we added four or five. I suspect we'll see another two or three this year so Ethiopian wouldn't surprise me.

So I was reading the annual ''state of the airports'' report by Mr. Diaz of HAS and he says their main focus in 2016 is to continue to expand international service. In 2015 we saw the arrival of Eva, Al Nippon, Volaris and Air New Zealand. Does anybody have any inside info on any new carriers in the works? I still think it would be cool to get a direct to Johannesburg or maybe Tel Aviv. Last year, Mr. Diaz noted that they're working hard to expand service to Africa.

Went by The Woodlands Mall today and noticed that there are a lot of changes in progress. First and foremost is the addition of a new anchor store, Dick's. It is being added to the south side of the mall, between Dillard's and the outdoor part of the mall. Second, they have begun adding parking garages to the mall. The first garage is being erected in the east side of Dillard's. According to employees, there will be multiple garages around the mall. This certainly fits in with the master plan. Will have to dig it up and repost it. Has anybody else noticed the changes? It's nearly impossible to miss.

Looks like they're working on the 37th floor. Is that accurate? Another 11 stories and over 100 feet to go.

Looks like somebody changed title of this thread to 30 stories instead of 39. Has this tower been reduced in the number of floors originally proposed?
