  1. While waiting for my wife at the Mall on Teas Nursery I saw a vacant office building just to the east. It looked like interesting architecture, had a really nice site. There is no signage, however they are building a new roadway to building. Curious of its history.

  2. Was looking at the water level chart for Lake Conroe. Seems very odd how the level is maintained consistent at 198 feet. The heavy rain in early April briefly increased the level and quickly subsided back to 198 feet.

Curious if the level is kept artificially low to enable the water plant construction, or to get the public used to the low levels when they draw surface water off for treatment.

If we have another drought this summer the low lake level will have dire consequences.

  3. Technically the website is “not up” and has been that way for years. If you go to the home page http://www.grandtexas.net/ you are not allowed access to the site. They are not smart enough to know that search engines easily jump the barrier.

Look at the location: “As part of the development process, Grand Texas has determined three different desired sites. Two are in Montgomery County, while the other is in Fort Bend County. We can assure you, this information will be provided as soon as readily available.”

According to Montgomery Central Appraisal District records, Bryan D. Poage, of Enid, Oklahoma purchased the land on FM 3083 which is directly behind the proposed TEXCON injection well site. Lori Ferris was the owner of the land and sold it on April 9, 2012. Poage has not returned phone calls this morning. It has not been determined as of yet if this land will tie into the TXCOM but county officials say it is too much of a coincidence that someone from outside the state buy this land directly behind the site.

After the TCEQ three member panel decided against not just the county governments not wanting the site but the hundreds of residents the site was approved. That approval allows TEXCOM to inject up to 12,000 barrels of hazardous wastewater from outside the Montgomery County area every day for the next 30 years. That equates into over sixty trucks a day.

TXDOT then became involved by not granting access to FM 3083 as the entrance to the site was not wide enough. They also stated TEXCOM’s access management plan was insufficient to handle the heavy traffic. With the sale of this land and if this is used for an entrance it will be almost four times as wide as the original entrance.

As of this morning crews have moved onto the property and started to clear it. Signs have been placed along FM 3083 warning of roadwork ahead and culvert pipes are being installed along FM 3083.

According to TXDOT the permit for the culvert pipes was issued as the land owner requested he needed access to his business.

  5. I found it interesting that the land still has a FOR SALE sign, however there is considerable site prep work going on that is specific to a construction project. Evidently the project does not want to have any commercial details known by the public.

This spring Aqua TX laid new water supply piping from the well in Greenfield Forest north to FM1488. We inquired with Aqua for details of why the pipe was being ran, however they denied any knowledge of the work.

  6. There was a nearby house for sale so I went up on the balcony to get a view & pic over the hay bales.

Wonder if the building is a new San Jacinto River Authority maintenance facility?

  7. While in White Oak Ranch I noticed active construction located directly to the east. The area is adjacent to the east end of the Lake Conroe dam. There is no signage indicating what the project is, and I could not tell where the access road connected.

Anyone have knowledge of the project?
