The large lease before selling was actually by the buyer. What you forgot to mention was that it was 92% leased! Got a nice sized lease right before they unloaded it.

the uptown skyline is going to be very different in the next 3 years (once these 5 or more towers are completed that are going up along Post Oak). especially the northern portion of it.
So will be traffic on Post Oak

As important as the urban environment is, the main concern should be that the artwork in the building is properly displayed and conserved; which I would venture to say is one if the reasons Holl was selected. Along with Renzo Piano, he is one of the few architects who really understands and masters the use of natural lighting.

So I knew they were condominiums.
They are not. A few lines below calling it condominiums, the article says:
"... with plans to convert it into 309 high-end rental units in a $95 million project."

I was just referring to the EC itself, but I'm unaware of anything nearby that most people would consider as (or especially "more") naturally beautiful or appealing as what was shown in the picture above before the bulldozers came. .
Google Terry Hershey Park....

Looks Like H&M might open a location there.
I bet that is just a sign that the architect's renderer put in to show there could be retail. That's an old rendering; tenants are never signed up at the time the architect does the design rendering.

The article says construction will add up to 41,000 sf....that is NOT a high rise.

It says this:
"Rents will be comparable to One Park Place in downtown with its target market as the urban dweller, Platt said."
So that is where I assumed it was going to be a condo.
Actually that means apartments. Condos are not for rent, they are for sale.

Heh, I saw that too...
Then I realized it was the bell tower from St. Anne's which is actually across the street from the project. Bonus points for accuracy on that one.
You are right!

and the new Cameron HQ off of the beltway, FMC at Generation Park, Conoco's new tower in the Energy Corridor.
Conoco's towers (2 of them) are already listed as Energy Center 3 and 4

Can you name a few specific things?
His taste. Look at....any building he's done. And you can't blame the architects. He keeps changing architect from building to building; he's the common denominator.

Is there a rendering of the high rise tower that's going up and
how many floors is it projected to have? Thanks

The thing I like about RD is that he puts detail into his work. I don't know architecture technically - what is it about his projects that are "cheap?"
everything

"Pretty lame... and that giant grassy driveway (which can't be accurate) makes it seem like the building is out in the exurbs."
- that perspective is as if you were standing at St Anne's looking across their driveway and Westheimer.
You're right. That "giant grassy driveway" actually is accurate.
Gotta love the snowman reflection on the building!

First post and new to this forum. ...and here's the rendering for Helix Tower:
That's exactly what the museum district needs.
Thanks for posting!

Looks like this tower has been reduced to 22-stories after concerns that the building will dwarf surrounding buildings:
Edit: I inferred the ''reduced'' part based on the article. I have no inside information aside from what you read on the release.
Wrong project. The document is regarding Hines' tower.

Oh I forgot we have 2 threads on this. That's probably why tothesky didn't notice the new renderings. And nativehoustonion.. It's 756'9".. Totally 757'.. That extra foot matters! Heh.
I agree tangledwoods. Chevron will be prob be at least 800'. I factored the height to floor ratios and 800' would put a 58 floor equivalent building (what the Chevron rendering shows) at less than 13.8' per floor.
Can somebody merge both threads?

Thank you. I kind of figured. Do you know what's proposed for the greenspace?

as for the rumors. someone replied to a post of mine once mentioning Hines owning a plot located in an area that allowed/was basically designated for a supertall? anyone have any idea what lot this would be?
Something like this does not make sense in Houston. Supertalls (and anything else actually) are allowed anywhere in Houston - except for deed-restricted developments. Land is not designated for any uses or density...that would be called the z word.

Why does the tilte still say it's by Interfin?
