[sigh] indeed...

SYD would be great, and i remember reading somewhere (believe a.net) that it was a route that CO was considering...

same...EK did a tremendous job with promoting their new service to IAH, and their 2 million dollar dinner/function/party at Minute Maid wasn't too shabby...

ehh, i was upset at first but we are getting SIA, and that is WAY better than CI. KE will most likely move to IAH from DFW or operate both routes; QR is a definate and X9 is still stating they will start service, its just delayed. plus our regular int'l carriers from europe will definately increase frequencies and routes as well...

are you talking about aftermarket or stock. the new mazdaspeed3 is the fastest FWD stock car to come out recently...

What Car Would You Want If Money Were No Object?
urban909 replied to Nothing but me and my Cadillac's topic in Off Topic
i had a WRX before, then found out i was having a kid. so, i wanted a 5 door and the best one/the one i liked is the mazda3's (fully loaded with more options than a new civic by the way). then, low and behold, what does subaru come out with 2 months after recieving my car. a nice 5 door WRX that gets the same flipping gas mileage (new EPA standards) as my "fuel effecient mazda". now, dont get me wrong i LOVE my mazda, but there is nothing like AWD...oh and 256 HP... EDIT: and there is nothing like the BMW 335xi Coupe...droool http://www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/3/335xicoupe/default -
ehh, more like tensions with Turkey and the reducing strength of the US dollar against the euro, and a recent 3 week low against the yen. actually, OPEC has recently annouced they may increase production to keep oil prices as is, or lower. also, oil prices have risen because of the booming economies of China and India. getting back on topic, if oil prices are a concern (and they will hit $4 plus next spring/summer) then dump the SUV/less fuel effecient car (easier said then done, i took a small hit on that one but now drive a nice little mazda3), although they are attractive because the prices of these vehicles has been slashed dramitically because Ford/Chevy/Dodge, etc are trying to make room for new SAV's and/or more so called "fuel effecient cars/trucks"; and yes, spring/summer is a great time for a country drive (or bike/walk/horse) if prices are too high

i was thinking the same thing. i really hope they bring in more retail, they should definately have the space. i really wish Virgin Megastore would make an appearance, but thats probably just wishful thinking... -
i have taken the MTA Metro-North Railroad and its fairly descent for the amount that its used for. the best commuter rail is in zurich in my opinion; clean, comfortable and spacious...

i lived overseas for awhile and travelled abroad alot as well, i like the idea of controlled round-a-bouts that you mentioned. i think the flow of traffic would much improve at large intersections that are usually backed up during peak times...then again, as some have mentioned, the whole concept of a yield sign at a round-a-bout is a little too much for some drivers here...

i am surprised there has not been a major accident (that i know of) on the road as well. reverse lanes are not bad in concept, i know i have seen them used effectively in europe. anyways, i have almost gotten into some head on accidents; people ignoring the no left/right turn signal and pulling into my lane and then getting upset when i honk at them to get out of the way so i don't get rear ended...

yeah i was just giving some different examples, i like the second one the best...

i did too, but when i went back to europe i saw, in my opinion, some better looking rail cars. i don't care too much for the boxy look, but these are some good examples (sorry it from wikipedia, but they have some good pics of different examples) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:LYNX_Ca...montStation.jpg , http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Ireland...blin_-_Tram.jpg and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Adelaide_Flexity.jpg as ricco67 has pointed out, we are getting 70 new LRT cars. i wonder what company is designing/producing these.

on the red line they can't link more than 2 (even though they could) do to the possibility of blocking intersections. now, i don't know/think/hope that will be the case with the new lines...

ohhh okay. thanks for clearing that up.

i take it the purple lines on the map are LRT extensions, and seeing there are some limited stops (i.e. katy) will the new LRT's be able to reach speeds higher than 65 or is that even needed?

yeah i saw that guy a while back. some of these are actually quite impressive as far as "construction" goes; i used to live in indonesia and some of these remind me of the shanty towns over their (usually right next to million dollar houses/skyrises/hotels) which almost seems to be the case here as well. does anyone know if there has been tv/print stories on these places?
