Oh I love Pappasitos, everytime I'm back in Houston it's one of the first places I have to eat. Usually either the one on I10 near BW8 or the one on 290 near Tinseltown. A Pappasitos in Uptown would work out much better.

I know Saturn V has to be inside to perserve it, but could they stand it upright somewhere in Houston, and then incase it in a giant clear glass box, kinda like the glass pyramid in Galveston, but a box instead of a pyramid? I'm trying to switch from night shift back to day shift, so I might not be making any sense. But it could be like Houston's Eiffel Tower or Statue of Liberty, or something.

And then some people think we have the whole Minneapolis/St.Paul thing going on, and that they're both downtowns.

If they really do build that tall Deyaar tower, it could block the Mercer, at least at one angle.

Who puts on the Nutcracker Market each year at Reliant? Is it the Ballet?

Any rumors as to what the skywalk is gonna end up in? Are they going to be building a department store of some sort (maybe a Nordstroms?) or are they going to build space for more smaller retail stores, in that grassy area? Or is this the area they were talking about buidling an aquarium?

So I heard a Chick-Fil-A is going into the new Oak Forest shopping center.........is this true? I love their sweet tea.

Lawrys did indeed pull out, but considering the number of "mixed-used" projects going up around town, I'm sure they'll find a home somewhere. Three Forks steak restaurant has replaced them in the Pavilions.

They can even walk to Kroger's and a movie on West Gray.

And soon a new Whole Foods!

What will happen to this thread once Pavilions opens and is no longer "Going Up?" Will it disappear or move to another section? I don't think I've ever paid attention to a thread long enough to see what happens to it once the project it's representing is complete.

Anyways, if this place is having trouble with leasing retail, I imagine "retail" is waiting to see if people will actually come before they decide if they want to open a location at Pavilions or not.

The West Ave website says it will feature a state-of-the-art Microplex Theatre, what is that? Is it like a movie theater, but micro-sized? Or maybe it's just a fancy name for the clubhouse?

I thougt Canada was crazy clean. Okay, I've never been to Canada, but that's one of my stereotypes of Canada, super clean, along with super friendly people and super cold.

I don't know what kind of retail downtown needs, but I want downtown to have a GameWorks/Dave & Buster's type place. I would love to be able to play skee ball and laser tag during my lunch break.

Actually I did think of a retail store I'd like downtown, a Best Buy. That way, on new movie Tuesday, I can browse the New Release section during lunch.

Is Texas Tower that building that smells really bad when you walk by it?

Billboards are ugly and they suck. They seem so 1970's. Anyways, as far as the video screens, they don't have to show ads. I've seen some that rotate between pretty pictures, like art hanging on a wall. They would rotate between pictures of famous paintings, flowers, butterflys, things of that nature. It looked better on a side of a building than an actual blank wall.

Okay, I just realized I don't hate all billboards. I'm so bi-polar. I hate those billboards lining the freeway. Ads on the side of buildings like in some cities, I don't mind so much. I prefer the ads to the blank wall. That's just me, I don't like blank walls. Maybe I have a blank wall phobia.

I love when I log into HAIF like any normal day, and suddenly there is a new downtown tower proposal, it rocks my face off. Anyways, for that location, I think the height is fine, considering it's basically behind Chase Tower. I'd prefer that side of downtown, the more eastern part, to have building more in that 500ft range. Now the west side, and especially the Gateway tract, that's where I want to see building built tall!

Did construction stop completely, or did it just slow down? Golly, I hope they didn't run out of money.

What is downtown's daytime population? Is it over 100,000?
