  1. Don't forget this tidbit: <<One of the Priority 3 items
  2. Parrot.....congrats on finding the support groups! It is exhausting sometimes but you can do it! We STILL have communication/maturity problems with my son even though they consider him "normal" now. Sometimes I think "what is he thinking?!?!" My neice transferred to St Jerome catholic school (middle) after Briarwood and got an award at graduation for 3/4 As. It is a good school. I've never heard of the other ones. If you want to look at devices look at DynaVox. It is a speech device that helps kids communicate. Our insurance bought us one and a year later my son was doing much better. We actually gave it to the Tx Children's center in Cypress for a boy whose insurance wasn't cooperating. It's a 7K device. It really helped him think phrases out. He was 3 when he made it say "I love you". http://www.dynavoxtech.com/
  3. My niece went to Briarwood for ADHD. Boy is that place EXPENSIVE!!! Like 16K a year! Which problem does she have on the autism spectrum? ADHD, Asperger's, Speech Apraxia (which my son had) are all on the spectrum. TX Children's Hospitals has great evaluators. We went there to see a Speech Pathologist and used that report to give to the evaluator for TISD. I had no problems in TISD at all. My son was in PPCD for 2 years before transferring to a regular K class with speech pullout. He didn't receive any services this year. If you can get a copy of it I would suggest getting a copy of "The Late Talker". It deals with speech apraxia but also goes into the other spectrum disorders. It has a huge section on how to deal with school districts and all the legal aspects, etc, which are extremely helpful. My son got bussed to the elementary school where PPCD was in TISD on a handicapped bus. They picked him up and dropped him off every day except when we took him to a speech therapist at TX Children's in Cypress. On CISD - I have heard people have problems with them but I'm sure the more educated you are the less likely they will try to mess you around. Kinda like buying a car! Good luck. You can message me if you need any help!!
  4. Randalls is different than Kroger and HEBin that respect. There is only one add for all Tom Thumb/Randalls while Kroger and HEB ads vary area to area. At one time I was getting 2 different HEB ads and 2 different Kroger ads in the mail. One was from the Tomball area in the mail and the other was from The Woodlands area in the paper. I know Randalls have the same price points because I shop there with a list from the Grocery Game website/coupons and the list is for all TT/Randalls stores.
  5. I watched it last year when The Woodlands played Lufkin and it was on ESPN2. They make those deals a year ahead of time (with the school district). Maybe it won't monsoon during this game!
  6. Berryhill is Cal-Mex. That's why we don't like it. Barton Springs closed because the owner "misidentified" the demographics. He thought this was more of an Austin/liberal/younger mid set area and he found out later that it WASN'T. That's why he moved to 290. Don't ask me what the difference is, but it was in the paper last year as such. They took all the signs and moved them to the new restaurant. There was a big write up on it in the Chronicle.
  7. Smokey Bones was under the same unbrella as Olive Garden and Red Lobster. I had a gift card that I could use at any of the three. We went to Red Lobster. I think Rib Tickler in Tomball is better BBQ than SB.
  8. I concur. Berryhill is NASTY. 'nuff said.
  9. Yeah the freeway stops at Spring Cypress. I hate hate HATE going down 249 now. It is bottlenecked up to the freeway when you go North on 249 (from Willowbrook area). I wish they would have finished the freeway to Tomball before they started on the bypass. Maybe thats where cars are going to be diverted to when they work on it. But that would kill business so who knows...........
  10. Oh.....I thought you would have been in the North chapter. I heard the Houston chapter is alot stricter than ours is. I tried to message you but your profile wouldn't let me.
  11. Kaite....are in the JLNHSMC? Are you going to transfer to the Houston chapter? I just saw in an old post that you said you worked with the League.
  12. Ok big deal....so they aren't listed as a "city". Kingwood isn't listed either!! River Oaks isn't listed, the Heights isn't listed, Cypress isn't listed. What's your point?
  13. I don't know exactly where this is going to be but I found the story online. Should be interesting. Our neighborhood is Autumn Woods and will be close to this development called Autumnwood. <<Master-Planned Autumnwood Imminent (Housing : Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown) 5/8/2007 THE WOODLANDS (Houston Chronicle)
  14. You can actually get on the access roads now. (to 2920)
  15. It was in a Magnolia paper late last year too. I have always heard magnolia for a proposed site.
  16. It's been awhile since this topic was brought up. There are also several threads on Vintage Park at one time. I see no problem with the post and appreciate the link. I was beginning to wonder when things were going to take shape there. (It's a lot better than other posts telling us when a new Jack in the Crack is going to open don't you think?)
  17. Theiss Farms on SA is still there. I think those two are the same company. Maybe it's a family limited partnership or something to that effect.
  18. Pineda....thats a poster who has a different perspective on things than Mr. Football. Memorial Northwest is harder to pinpoint I think. When I lived there I considered it Spring but in Klein ISD. I was only in elementary so belonging is hard to grasp when it isn't concrete as in Spring, TX 77379. Looking back it is the Klein area. I think I would rather say Klein than Spring they way things are going.
  19. actually............ they haven't broke ground yet. Nice try though.
  20. Dude your new map is even wackier than the 1st. If I lived in Tomball I wouldn't consider that "Spring Extended" Klein seperates Tomball and Spring.
  21. Yes but people of parts of TW have Spring zip codes also. If you sent 2 letters with the same zip but interchanges Spring/The Woodlands they would end up in the same place.
