  1. I live west of the woodlands. After Cypress Rosehill I just went straight down Decker Prairie Rosehill road. Then Hardin Store Rd. It's a nicer drive! eta - I had to look in on my dad's rent house in Cypress too. I know most all of the backroads. My friend lives in Stone Gate and her hubby works at HP and takes Jarvis.
  2. I went there today. They had a special event last night but today was the first day they were open. It is backwards from The Woodlands Market HEB (veggies on right/frozen, milk on left) The differences: Bigger store Aisles are more spaced out 2 cooking connections cheese deli (like meat deli) Sushi bar is bigger expanded area of pots, pans, etc (I don't get this stuff at grocery stores so I didn't go that way) I drove down Cypress Rosehill and it took around 25 minutes to get to 290. The parking lot was a madhouse. It was like trying to park at UH. There were sheriff's deputies everywhere directing traffic. It will let Cypress have a bigger selection of organics since Randall's and Walmart are the only options out there. I personally wouldn't make the drive again. It didn't have anything that was that different from The Woodlands Market HEB. It really came off to me as just a really big HEB. I saw the head manager who came from The Woodlands Market HEB and he wanted my impressions of the store when I was done. I told him it looked really nice and I hoped that he had a good turnout!
  3. what do you mean by superlatives? I don't see anything wrong with the article. That's the one I was referencing.
  4. Okay the article was in the Chron today. Most of the time when a prototype is built, the developers use that as a model and then build others that are bigger. I know it's going to bigger than the one in The Woodlands. What does it matter? Why do you bash anything that has to do with The Woodlands?
  5. Just because an HEB has a "Cafe on the Run" Does NOT make it a hybrid store. In The Woodlands the Indian Springs store has one and isn't considered a hybrid. The only differences between that HEB and the Woodlands Market are actually very few. Most HEB stores have expanded their product line and carry 70% of the specialty items that the hybrid stores carry. Most HEBs have a sushi area now. The only differences between a nice upscale HEB and The Woodlands Market location are very few: Obviously a Cafe on the Run (some regular HEBs have this) the bread area. The Seafood area The ethnic area with items from different countries the bulk goods area (some regular HEBs have this) I can't really think of any other differences.
  6. It still isn't "real" chinese food. Give me authentic Vietnamese anyday and I'll be a happy camper.
  7. Don't go. The one in Tomball is nasty. Any Panda Express I have ever been to is nasty.
  8. Those look like the 19th century houses that are in the Northeast (obviously updated!) That is a real neat concept.
  9. http://www.columbia-md.com/columbiaindex.html oh boy....that's freaky!!
  10. Yes but GGP wasn't around 30 years ago when Mitchell started The Woodlands. Bridgeland will NEVER be a "The Woodlands" and everyone knows it. There are 10 or so psuedo "communities" within a few square miles of each other. That in my mind isn't unique at all. Another fact is that there aren't any zoning regs and they are in Houston ETJ. I haven't looked at the website recently but when the site was put up it was even comparing the area's demographics to those in The Woodlands. It just seemed tacky to me. I envision it being a Fairfield type community as well. It'll be nice no doubt, but no where near TW.
  11. And what "mistake" would that be? You can't even see the businesses from the road. I would drive Woodlands Pkwy 100 times before heading down Fry Rd. Now that's a road with issues.
  12. I drove through there yesterday. Those houses are way too close together. It has a real claustrophobic feeling to it.
  13. Those are 2 different places. Creekside Village is a lower end community. Creekside PARK is the new village.
  14. Why has this project stalled? NOTHING has happened there in a long time.
  15. Was that the old sky blue Daniel building? It USED to be the only thing out there!!!!!!!!!
  16. The Egg and I is awesome. I've been to the one off Research Forest in The Woodlands. They have awesome hot sauce and I bought a bottle.
  17. It's probably from a hunt. Someone just discarded the parts.
  18. Are you trying to say they are copying Katy? I wouldn't live in Katy if my life depended on it.
  19. I heard on KSEV that The Katy Copperheads went BANKRUPT and left KISD in DEBT!! CFISD was dumb enough to pick them up after doing that to a sister district. Also......If religion isn't supposed to be part of schools why does the Berry Center sponsor Christian music artists and mass religious group meetings like Jehovah's Witness? I'm a Christian and all but it does seem fishy. If they let Christian groups in they'll be letting death metal and other "non traditional" groups next.
  20. I didn't know Onstar gave directions. I thought that was what a GPS was for.
  21. Yes I read it. But even considering floors like that is total stupidity. (Even if it isn't included in the first amount)
