I hope whoever converts the building does the proper testing for and cleanup of the toxic chemical perchloroethylene (PERC) used for dry cleaning.

While we lived in Houston, we had our annual wedding anniversary dinners at Trader Vic's at The Shamrock......

Used to buy gas at that station....I remember $.49 a gallon.

When my wife and I were first married in 1967 we had milk delivered to our front door from Borden's.

Often ate at the one on Main.....outstanding fried shrimp.

My wife and I went there in the mid 1960's...can't remember the name of the play we saw.

I ate at the OST location in the 1960's, I remember I really liked the Wheel Burger.

We saw the Sound of Music there...it played for almost two years.

...also outstanding roast beef sandwiches at Alfred's

My wife and I had our wedding reception at the Briar Club in 1967.

Looking at all the pictures in the flyer it appears they found issues that required major demolition of the foundation throughout the building. Maybe some sort of conflict with the contractor, etc.????

Our family stayed at the Tidelands in 1963, after returning to Houston from a 5 year stay in Asia.......before we moved into our home.

A beautiful cemetery....we were there a few months ago for a family funeral.

Here is a picture from 1949...looks like a ballroom at the bottom of the picture.

I think the the "classic" furniture works well.....as mid-century furniture would also.

That doesn't look like the house in the old photo....if it is, it must had some significant changes made to it!

It was an Exxon station....used to buy gas there in the early 70's.
