I couldn't have said it better myself. I don't know when people are going to realize that The Woodlands is NOT that far out and that it IS a nice place to live and there is a LOT to offer here. I see jealousy written all over some of these posts. Bachanon, what is Waterway 2 and how many floors/sq. ft is it? Where will it's location be?
2 waterway is next door to 4 waterway and at the corner of woodloch forest and lake robbins. i think it is planned to be under 10 stories. it will have retail at street level.

so the ballet owned the other half of the block, sold it with the expectation of parking via a condo developer. condo developer out, now atlanta based bank owns what is now surface parking. i wonder what will become of the lot.

.............announcement this month

i think what they mean is that the architecture is plain. it's clean, sleek, but nothing new, certainly nothing too interesting.
that being said, it is cool to think that the woodlands "skyline" is growing outside of town center. the simcity player in me is already connecting the commercially zoned areas between town center, shenandoah and the research forest. the crane at aon/hewitt (research forest) is not too far from memorial hermann's crane for new six or seven story building (shenandoah). a crane recently came down at the luxury senior community on the waterway (town center/eastshore) and a crane at 2 waterway square may be in the works (town center/waterway square). to see three cranes up in such a small area is exciting.
even though the architecture leaves much to be desired, it's fun to watch it be constructed.
did i just hyperventilate?

by the way, there is a crane up in the aon/hewitt campus. i can see it from waterway square area buildings and a little bit from research forest.
-
i read recently that 4 waterway square is more than 70% leased and there's buzz about 2 waterway square moving forward.

.........i'd still like a design committee for specific areas of town, like downtown, but nothing specifically authoritarian.

this will be visible from lake woodlands bridge and somewhat from research forest, right?

The six-story building will be connected to UH's College of Optometry at the corner of Wheeler Avenue and Calhoun Road.

that just hurts to look at...........can we go back to the parking lot?

(sigh)
i wonder if the springwoods village announcement has set other potential developments in motion? 4 waterway avenue isn't full. is there demand for more office space in the woodlands area right now?
i guess the site plan showing up on zc doesn't necessarily mean anything is happening soon.

forgive, if this was mentioned earlier in the thread:
does anyone know if/what retail will be on the ground level?

interesting..........
is this the existing plan for this site or is it recent?

i changed the title. let me know if it's ok or what you'd prefer.

Well if you're going to build suburbs, might as well do it right. This project looks great, and I'm happy about the parks & paths. We'll see how the bridges turn out in the end. I'm hoping they'll keep a lot of trees. Every time a new development clears those tall pines, It hurt's a little on the inside. Go Spring!
yes!.........and the connection to the spring creek greenway project is an added bonus. http://www.springcreekgreenway.org/Spring%20Creek%20Greenway%20Gateway%20Parks%20Map%20-%20March%202009.pdf
the nature preserve at springwoods is connected to a 12000 acre preservation/recreation greenbelt between tomball and kingwood.

there IS quite a bit of land immediately north of the development, between the river and the main road into springwoods, east of the holzworth extension and west of i-45. looking at a google map of the woodlands, would the holzworth extension connect with budde road or sawmill, i wonder?
-
it would stand to reason that coventry would be necessary to get the infrastructure in place before xom. xom's promise to move to the development could conceivably be a factor in the development getting off the ground.

curious as to why one side is completely windowless. it's an attractive building and then.....nothing on that side.

bb??? nm Neiman Marcus?
Have any HAR listings for these homes? I searched 77380 and can't find any.

or maybe you're talking about this one?
this one....

.........little bird has been busy lately. the woodlands continues to attract big name retailers. big spenders who are "not from around these parts" must be spending freely. following tiffany & co, market street is rumored to be getting a "bb" and the woodlands mall may yet land a "nm".
it's hard to believe there are still houses for sale under $130K in walking distance.
oh, and the luxury senior living facility facade..........brick. boooooooo!

.......a little bird told me that a staging area for construction is built with a large crane in place at the proposed exxon location. could this be something other than what we think?

springwoods is underway..........other studies are underway for the exxon site connected to springwoods. i do not think the tree removal is for the exxon site specifically.
