  5. Top dollar real estate; low rent look. http://impactnews.com/downloads/19149/download/bitblt-620x348-e4fee03c3c7a857c6dba5edacdc311d3da66b828/Two%20Hughes%20Landing%20Rendering.jpg

  7. We're past that. People misunderstood a post. Separate from the tower, a Chevron company has shown interest and possibly has plans for property in The Woodlands or north of The Woodlands.
  8. it isn't so much about keeping tesla out as it is about keeping manufacturers from selling directly to consumer's which could eliminate the need for dealerships. if tesla sold franchises (which come with many strings attached; they could control how the product is sold), they might have an opportunity for enormous sales. people are test driving teslas, flying out to california and driving one home. gm's drive to sell direct online might be something dealers should be worried about too. tesla should approach luxury car manufacturers and save one lucky company the trouble and cost of developing a significant all electric vehicle. not sell out, but "offer" the exclusivity of offering the tesla brand via a stringent franchise agreement. tesla should not be all or nothing; they need to have alternative models.
  9. Government funding has strings attached. I think one was regarding existing utilized bus routes. It would stand to reason the low income areas nearest downtown, users of mass transit, would fit the bill.
  10. Never received a flag from MaCafee.
  11. the woodlands is committed to mixed use in town center, for the most part. the woodlands development company/howard hughes owns all or most of the land, unlike midtown and the east end; no common owner of property.....
  12. Interesting. One of the proposed buildings at Research Forest lakeside shows to now be 12 stories and Hughes Landing 3 is 12 stories. Research Forest Lakeside initially had only one 12 story building which is complete and I do not remember any office buildings for Hughes Landing at 12 stories. Hotel and residential maybe, but not office. I think both of those developments must be upping the square footage on remaining buildings. Also, on super block east, the Woodlands Chamber has vacated an existing building. I'm curious if there is a change in the works to upgrade the building or something better. The chamber was one of several other businesses in the building and I do not know if others are moving out.
  13. see how ugly houston is here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/haif/
  14. Some anti-"EaDo" commentary on twitter tonight. One comment joked that a blogger was upset over the term "EaDoHo". It is East of Downtown Houston after all. Might as well go all the way with the stupid initials.
  15. i really needed to go to bed....but if concord977 keeps this up, it's going to be a late night. awesome pictures. posting links on haif facebook page.
  16. ditto. great pictures. please go forth and take more...and then share them with haif.
  17. I think I shall start calling The Woodlands "TheWoo" or "TheWo" depending on my mood. When I'm in Sterling Ridge, I'll say I'm in WeWoo and when I'm in Grogan's Mill I'll say EaWoo. (sarcasm intended....) Should the West side of Downtown now be called "WeDo"? I'm hanging out in EaDo but then running over WeDo. I'm still not sure if the "o" is an "oo" or a long "o" sound. South of Bissonnett - SoBi South of Memorial - SoMe South of High Street - SoHi East Montrose - EaMo (I miss emo's.....EaMo is one neighborhood nickname that actually works) I digress. It's too easy to make up names. How much thought went into "EaDo". I'm told they used a public forum and a marketing firm to come up with the name.

  19. Are the apartments actually called "EaDo Station Apartments" or is that just a place holder for the graphics? Is the station at this location actually called "EaDo" Station? I wouldn't want to eat at any restaurants with a name that looked like "Eat-Do". Is the area actually "Harrisburg"? Why not go with a historic name? Yes. Off topic. BAD MOD! BAD MOD!! This "East Side" development is very cool. I am super happy that "Harrisburg" is coming back strong as my family worked in this area between the forties and the sixties. I do not know that I would want to live so close to a stadium, I wonder if they soundproof?
  20. Indeed. Too much like "Sea-do", "eat-do.....do?". Is it do like doo or is it doe? Stupid. We aren't Manhattan. What's next? Is South Houston going to be "Soho"? Crap...probably shouldn't put that out there. Like the renderings and location. Hate anything "eado".
