A 'fix' to the problems will basically be left to the district's elected officials...but if the voters keep putting incompetent or corrupt individuals in power, nothing much should be expected to change. Rather than contaminating other districts with this one's problems and/or voters, let residents with kids vote with their feet and move to better districts; seems like they already are.
WHAT?!?!?!
Why, NFISD was in hot water back in the late 1980s! http://www.chron.com/CDA/archives/archive.mpl?id=1988_591510Does this article speak of the sending of NFISD students to HISD schools back then?
One other development: I'm officially a high school graduate now!Congradulations! Have you decided on an Institution of Higher Learning yet?

Stop by Project Row House in Third Ward. They are mostly rehabed shotgun houses. They are rescueing the shotgun houses from destruction by developers.
Maybe someone there in the office can help you further. They seem to be buying a lot of them and fixing them up to house young mothers and help them get back on thier feet. Very good and worthy program.

Also using a few of them to help young artist by giving them a studio and exposure. Again, very good and worthy program

Well the flip side is, that if you live in an area that is so bad that you need to wall yourself off from the general population, that is bad news.
No it isnt. It is a first and very major step in removing scum from the area.
As to walling the "trash" out: I have a few friends in Royal Oaks that claim walls don't keep out trash.Gets its true......southwest is southwest is southwest.

Lets see, I think i can get one of my arms in that thing and maybe half of one of my legs
My big ass isnt comfortable riding around in or attempting to get inside a vehicle that i can lift with one arm and flip over

I stand by my statements. Think outside of one dimension. The very fact that you need a cop, on or off duty to show up in a few minutes is bad news. Gated communities do not typically attract trash. Only gated communities i know that attract trash are apartment complexes.
-
I think the answer isnt to pack up and run. I think the answer is more gated communities! Many if not most of the neighborhoods in the N and NW are built around cul de sacs. It would not be hard to close those neighborhoods off from the rest. Gated communities with strict access control will put a halt to stuff like this.

Why can't, Sheldon, Aldine, Galena Park or Humble take over NFISD or split it up among themselves? Why burden HISD with problems that they didn't create? Let some of the other suburban ISD's step up to the plate. Let's not be one sided.
Money.HISD has a larger balance sheet than any of the ones you listed. HISD is better equipped to handle the students from NFISD and it has happened before. Back in the early 1990's, HISD absorbed students from NFISD when NFISD stood on the brink of total financial collapse.

I can totally see some racism in Nagin through his silly statements. I am no fan of racism!
As for Philadelphia, i used to call it Filth-A-Delphia. That place was nasty. Did brother Powell, Colin Powell, follow through with his clean up iniative in Philly that he started a few yrs ago and clean the place up?

This is absolutely absurd! Stuff like this make me wonder if theres an early release program in effect at the local nut houses

Best BBQ is found in my back yard in my smoker
Other than that, i like Luthers BBQ.

Get her an Element, I love mine!
Now that would be a hilarious site seeing TJones in a Honda Element. His big ass would be about as comfortable riding around in that thing as my big ass would be
I would pay good money to see that
TJones, this is the first time i have seen interior shots of your Cutlass, very nice job!
TexasArchitect, nice ride, but that color hmmmm

If you are looking for some cash in the mean time, my in laws are visiting from Ethiopia. You can be thier tour guide, i will pay cash. If you speak arabic, thats a plus. If not, just speak english very slowly so they can understand you. Take them to several different grocery stores and just let them go! They are ABSOLUTELY FASCINATED with the volume and variety in American grocery stores. They literally walk around them for hours. Who the hell says Houston isnt a place for tourist?
I hope this has brought a smile to your face in your time of disappointment

I look forward to seeing the Imperial rolling down the street. I like it! Not sure i would buy it for myself because i have had bad luck with Chrysler in the past. Im a Ford man
I think it may be a nice car for the wife.

I wish you much success in finding a new job

I'd like to know what the Dreamliner is going to be like and if they're keeping up their timetable.
The Boeing B787 will roll out of the factory this summer. Exact date is 7-8-7 as in 07-08-07.
Pretty clever First flight soon after. Im watching the progress of this bird. I have about a million FF miles to burn and im going to dedicate some of them for trips on this bird

That was rumored, but it is about the last thing GM needs. It would be like two drunks holding each other up.
Im not so sure. They are pretty comparable. Daimler and Chrysler are not and were not comparable. Daimler is a king of over priced autos latched with Chrysler and its popular line of reasonably priced autos. The Chrysler brand further ate into the Daimler bottom line, do to the less expensive brands. The 300 line is an example of that---now comes with a diesel engine for the EU market for far much less than anything in sedan form that Daimler has to offer. GM on the other hand, would be a good partner for CHrysler. The product offerings are within comparable scale of each other, price wise.

Maybe this equity firm is aquiring Chrysler to sell it at a later date to GM.... hmmmmmm

How is it that Bangor Maine has an airport / runways capable of these planes?
CHannelTwoNews is correct! To add to that, Bangor is also an alternate landing airport for the Space Shuttle.
A relic of the Cold War that is still very useful today
-
The Imperial is supposed to look expensive but be reasonably priced. Will have to search around to get the price range, but from what i remeber off hand, it was in the area of 30k-38k

I read somewhere that Lincoln was already considering scrapping the big chrome strip over the grill.
The designers of this new Navigator need to be fired are retrained. The outside and inside are horrible

For my mom, i got her some Tumi luggage, to complement my brothers gift to her, an all expense paid trip to Alaska with his wife.
For my wife, i secretly flew in her parents from Ethiopia. They are here until the end of the month.
Even though these are nice gifts, they still do not convey, fully, the love and gratitude i have for my mom for bringing me into the world and for my wife bringing our boys into the world

There are some really low and degenerate types in this world. Horrible to put a child through something like that.
