^^^ Whoa, it's shaping up real nice. Just imagine if it were Gus that were chosen.
I'm glad they went with this location instead. Gus Wortham has more historical provenance as a golf course and made more sense to renovate. Plus, there are not many golf courses within the loop--as far as public courses go, it's just Hermann, Memorial, and Gus Wortham I believe.
The Glenbrook Golf Course was . . . not great. The Botanical Gardens look to be a vast improvement on the space occupied by the old course.

Thanks! Folks on Nextdoor keep talking about Sprouts going in there, but I didn't think that was the case.
No surprise, but most of the folks on Nextdoor commenting on that post are horribly misinformed.Fortunately, I saw that the HAIF link to this post was provided so they should be good!

I walked by the building earlier this morning and snapped a quick photo.
Saw the earlier photo from @Andrew Ewert, but it looks like the Houston Post letters were behind a facade and are now being removed? The “T” and “H” are gone, and it looks like they’re chiseling away at the “E.”
If they are removing them instead of incorporating them into the design, that would be disappointing.

Based on the interior, signage, etc. this seems to be a bit more upscale than what I think any of us were expecting.

This appears to have been renamed "Forth at Navigation"
On the one hand, I applaud this change since this area is definitely not EaDo.On the other hand, this new name is really, really dumb.
I’m conflicted.

If this goes forward, R.I.P. Sideout. I had heard a while back though that the volleyball facility was done just to make use of the land by the owners (DeMontrond family?) until it could be sold and developed.

Cidercade opened in Austin mid-pandemic and are apparently doing okay.
I saw that you mentioned that in your post. If they just reopened, I think that it’s a bit premature to say they are doing ok. We will have to wait to see what happens I guess. -

"Common Desk" signage is up. Looks like they are currently setting up inside the south side of the building.
No word on Bishop Cidercade. The Austin location just opened, which means it should free up their development team to target Houston. It's still listed on their website as "Coming Soon" with no additional updates.
I’m very concerned that this will ultimately be canceled. I don’t know that any type of arcade is a viable business in this post-COVID world. The amount of staff needed for sanitization efforts alone would be problematic.
Have Dave & Busters or Main Event reopened?

It looks like they painted the fence black. IMHO, the red color looked much nicer.
I think the reddish-brown color was from whatever primer they were prepared with. And, I’ll have to disagree with you. IMHO, the black color compliments the white brick better.

More indication that McKinney looks to be realizing its potential as a retail/restaurant corridor.
Also, further proof that permanent adoption of the Slow Streets pilot program further down McKinney (which just ended) is ill advised. As the East End and EaDo continue to develop, McKinney is obviously going to see additional traffic volumes. Restricting McKinney from being accessible by thru traffic doesn’t seem like the best idea.

I think these are the old renderings? I remember the cheesy opening in the side of the building with the Texas flag hanging down from the previous renderings shared a few years ago. Also, the date on the bottom of the page suggests it was last updated in 2018.I think this design has (thankfully) been abandoned.

I just walked by this property on Saturday and was wondering what might be planned for it. It looked like Binswanger had either already shut down this location (the building at the northwest end; the lot parallel to Sampson is vacant) or at the very least was starting to wind down operations. Now I know.
This would be an awesome addition to the neighborhood!

Old parking lines not a great look.
Those are probably aisle markings for warehousing, so you know where to position pallets. My guess anyway.- 2

That explains the crew tearing up the parking lot just southeast of the Wilson criminal justice building on Commerce, near where the Austin St. bike path intersects Commerce. Looks like they’re putting a path and green space right through where the parking lot was. Nice!

Website for East End development the Plant, 3401 Harrisburg Blvd.
There's a brochure with a tentative site plan included if anyone wants to post to the forum.
The map in their brochure is a bit . . . inaccurate. They show Moon Tower on Navigation north of Ninfa's, Champ Burger at Commerce and Palmer, Voodoo Queen where Champ Burger actually is, and Warehouse Live on Chartres north of BBVA Stadium. Whoops.

This listing for the half block across from this property on Eagle (which is also identified as 0 Eagle St, could this be the same property you located in HCAD?) identifies this building as a “New Bar” but doesn’t provide a name or any info.

I don't think Gin typically does spec work... I would think that means theres an existing client. Maybe for at least part of the building.
That’s a good point, and an encouraging sign. Looking at Gin’s website, they definitely seem to custom tailor build outs based on client’s demands and preferences. -
This warehouse in EaDo on St. Charles (across from Be Fit Gym and caddy corner from EaDo Bike Co.) has been vacant and up for lease for a while.
Today I noticed two banners for Gin Design Group on the building, facing the Columbia Tap Rail Trail. I’m wondering if they could be considering a buildout to attract a bar/restaurant tenant?Gin Design Group website:

This tower is starting to have a clear presence when looking towards downtown from where I am in the Second Ward (one of the angles where it will be most visible). They still have 5-10 more floors to go before it’s topped out, correct?

I think this is a good location for this development. It’s in close proximity to both a light rail stop and the 41 bus on Polk St. If it is anything like the Campanile on Commerce, it will look much more presentable than the renderings suggest.
That being said, there really needs to be more market rate multi-family development along the Purple and Green Lines to keep pace with all of these predominately affordable complexes going in. I’m surprised nothing is happening along Harrisburg near Sampson and York (aside from another mixed-income development noted in @ljchou’s chart above).
