  1. y'all just mad cause Houston about to get swept. If they lose Game 3, say bye-bye.
  2. Listen, I'm not a baseball fan. But, watching Game 1 & 2 of the World Series. I can tell Astros is not focus. Is it the weather in Chicago infecting Astros? or is it they made history already by going to the World Series for the first time is a franchise? I think it's both. No Houston team can not play in bad weather conditions. Houston is spoil, they need to be indoors. Second, I think the Astros is not really worried about winning the World Series. They figure that they aalready made history, so what the hell. It may not be a sweep, they may win one game out of the series just not to make it look bad. I can tell the White Sox want it more then the Astros. To me, the Astros just... there in the World Series.
  3. I'm telling y'all. If Chicago be up 2-0 heading to Houston, the Astros got to play double harder, cause these White Sox are a pest. And if the White Sox wins the first game in Houston, I predict it may be a sweep. The Astros already made history for the first time in the World Series, and they gonna make another history by a sweep.
  4. I think by looking at the entire Game 1 of the World Series last night. The Astros got their hands full with the White Sox. Chicago has a pretty good team, the Astros better come on with it if they wanna be 1-1 in the series before they come back home to Houston. If Chicago takes Game 2 tonight. Houston we have a problem.
  5. The Texans is not getting rid of Carr. So, y'all need to get that off y'all minds for now. Texans needs Off.linemen, and Defense linemen. They don't need another quarterback, nor runningbacks. But, they could do some good by drafting more wide receivers (verterns, not rookies). The biggest thing now is offensive linemen. I predict their first pick will be linemen's, nothing less.
  6. I really like the new "Houston Astros" sung by Chamillionaire. It's tight. y'all check it out.

  8. New Orleans mayor criticizes Saints owner NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Mayor Ray Nagin disparaged Saints owner Tom Benson on Wednesday for working with San Antonio officials to permanently keep the NFL team in Texas. The mayor's comments came after the departures of two top Saints executives who were supportive of keeping the Saints in Louisiana. Nagin is concerned that San Antonio officials said publicly that Benson is working with them to relocate the franchise to Texas. ``We want our Saints, we may not want the owner back,'' Nagin said while attending the reopening of Cafe Du Monde in the French Quarter. ``I'm ready to go to the NFL and to (commissioner Paul) Tagliabue and say, 'Give us the Cleveland plan,' `` Nagin added, referring to the league awarding Cleveland an expansion team almost immediately after the Browns moved to Baltimore after the 1995 season. ``Whatever the Saints want to do, you let them leave, but they can't take our logo, they can't take our name, and you give us a promise to give us a franchise when this city's back.'' Saints spokesman Greg Bensel said he had no comment on the matter. ``For them to be openly talking to other cities about moving is disrespectful to the citizens of New Orleans, disrespectful to the Saints fans who have hung in with this franchise through 30-something years under very trying times,'' Nagin said. The Saints joined the NFL in 1967. In 1986, Benson was part of an ownership group that bought the team to ensure it would stay in Louisiana. Benson eventually bought out other members of the group. During Benson's ownership, the state of Louisiana has built him a new headquarters, including spending $6.75 million for an indoor practice field in 2003. The state also has paid for repeated improvements to the Louisiana Superdome at Benson's insistence during the past two decades. On Monday night, Benson fired Arnold Fielkow, the team's top business executive since 2000. Fielkow had overseen a 36-game sellout streak at the Superdome and negotiated an unprecedented stadium lease that called for the state to pay Benson $187 million in direct subsidies over 10 years. But Fielkow has said he believed the Saints needed to be leaders in New Orleans' rebuilding process after Hurricane Katrina and repeatedly praised Saints fans in Louisiana as the best and most loyal in the NFL. Fielkow has since said that stance led to his dismissal. On Tuesday, Conrad Kowal, senior director of marketing and business development, also resigned. Nagin called Benson's recent actions a ``doggone shame.''
  9. College is a college to me. A 2 year college just the same as a 4 year college. Only difference, a community college is just 2 years and you receive your associates degree. A 4 year college you get a bachelor's degree on up to PH.D if you like. Alot of students now is starting off with a 2 year college instead of a 4 year college. I would recommend a 2 year college first to anyone. Now you have these Universities like Phoenix that you don't have to take all that crap. They start you out with your major, but that crap is high. My friend attends Phoenix. I'm planning on going back to Houston Community College very soon. I just hope things work out for me now, then before.
  10. y'all forgot Houston Commiunty College, North Harris College, San Jacinto College. Hello!
  11. This series will go to Game 7. I bet you St.Louis wins tomorrow as well. Astros need to go ahead and end this tomorrow, if not, they're in for a rude awakening.
  12. My prediction for the World Series. Chicago and Houston.
  13. Jalapenos, the colorful restaurant near the corner of Kirby and Westheimer, will close its doors a the end of the year to make way for a huge new development on the land where the eatery has stood for 18 years. Recent Company News
  14. Houston is the slowest damn city. Hell, look at San Antonio and Dallas, even Austin building alot of projects left and right. What Houston building? Strip centers here and there. Houston is 4th largest city, and acting like it's 50th. So, don't tell me use a little intelligence replying to the thread. Houston have a hard time building more light rail, while Dallas already building more in their metros. Hard time for people to cater to downtown houston. Why? cause bad parking, not enough entertainment. Hell, Austin got more entertainment in their downtown then us. Get real dude! Are you blind? This a slow ass city we're in. They trying their best to uplift downtown, but people still won't cater. People rather go to the Woodlands, Sugarland, Galveston, Kemah, Katy, etc. then go to downtown. Downtown comes alive when something like Astros playing, going to the playoffs, maybe the World Series. The Rockets playing, and maybe those sorry ass Texans do something. You can not go downtown on a weekend and see alot of people. Right now you can , cause the Astros on the edge going to the World Series.
  15. Every since that damn hurricane katrina, and hurricane rita. Houston has slowed down alot. I guess they still have their minds on the louisiana people, instead of the city. But, how much you wanna bet the Pavilions get delayed until next year sometime? It never fails in Houston.
  16. I have a funny feeling that this project is going to be on hold, or either a set back like the other projects around Houston. Houston is good for that type of stuff.
  17. Dallas dining/movie theater operator to enter Houston market Houston Business Journal Movie Tavern Partners LP is ready to roll with the opening of two Houston-area dining/theater complexes in the next six months. The first Movie Tavern location, which will be called Movie Tavern-Richey Road, will be a seven-screen theater at Richey Road and Interstate 45. Movie Tavern will occupy the space formerly held by the AMC 8 theater at The Commons at Commerce Park North Shopping Center. The Richey Road location, originally constructed in 1984, was vacated by AMC in the late 1990s and has remained vacant since that time. The 27,800-square-foot theater is being totally gutted and reinvented, with one of the eight screening areas being converted into a commercial kitchen. This location was previously slated to become an Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, but Dallas-based Movie Tavern Partners purchased the assets out of bankruptcy in August after the franchise company that was to develop that specific Alamo Drafthouse location filed bankruptcy last April. The Richey Road location is slated to open in time for the holidays. The second project, which will be called Deerbrook Movie Tavern, will be a six-screen theater just west of the intersection of Highway 59 and FM 1960 in the former General Cinemas 6 at the Deerbrook Shopping Center. Deerbrook Movie Tavern will open in late spring 2006. The Deerbrook location in Humble, originally constructed in 1981, has been vacant since General Cinemas closed the theater in the late 1990s. The 20,800-square-foot theater is also being totally renovated in similar fashion to the Richey Road facility.
  18. Yes. GO ASTROS! Astros going to the Championship! I'm so excited for the Astros. To bad the Texans won't see a championship game for along time.
  19. Okay, you can stick a fork in the Texans now, they're done. They lost to the Titans which leaves the Texans an 0-4 record. Seahawks is up next, that's 0-5. After that week is the Clots, that's 0-6. These guys are... I'm just speechless now.
