QuoteA filing for the residential project named Block 42 Multifamily Project at 414 Milam on the state’s licensing and regulation website describes it as a “46-story, 373-unit multifamily building with integral garage and amenity spaces.” The filing lists an estimated construction start date of Dec. 1, 2018, with an Aug. 1, 2021, estimated completion.
The state filing for the Block 42 multifamily project lists Houston-based House+Partners as the design firm.
A spokesman from Hines declined to comment at this time.

In an effort to improve the city's transit and convention offerings, Houston First selected Dallas-based Jacobs Engineering (NYSE: JEC) in late 2018 as the architect and engineer on planned improvements to the southeast and east side of downtown Houston, including the George R. Brown Convention Center and its surrounding infrastructure. Jacobs will work alongside several partners, including Houston-based The Office of James Burnett, a landscape architecture firm, and Kansas City, Missouri-based Populous, a convention design firm, to modernize the convention center and improve connectivity between it and the area's other amenities, such as BBVA Compass Stadium and Minute Maid Park.
The project could be ongoing for as long as a decade. Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

QuoteAlliance also recently filed permits for its Broadstone Tortilla Factory project in the Heights, off 15th Street and North Shepherd. Alliance closed on the 2-acre strip of land where a tortilla factory once operated in September, the Houston Business Journal previously reported. The developer filed building permits for $35.2 million for the eight-story project.
Alliance's 337-unit apartment building on the tortilla factory site will feature Spanish and Mediterranean architecture elements, Phillippi previously told the HBJ in September. Apartments will range in size from about 600 to 1,200 square feet, with rental rates likely starting around $1,400 and going up to $2,400. The building’s amenities — including a pool, grilling stations, fire pit and outdoor pizza oven — will be on the top floor of the parking garage. Houston-based EDI International designed the building, and Alliance is serving as its own general contractor.

QuotePhoenix-based Alliance Residential is planning a new apartment project just inside the 610 Loop close to Northwest Mall.
The developer filed building permits with the city of Houston for $28.8 million for a project named Broadstone Minimax at 2717 Minimax, north of Memorial Park. Northwest Mall was chosen as the preferred site for Houston’s station for the proposed high-speed Texas bullet train.
Managing director Cyrus Bahrami and Luke Phillippi, development director, will oversee the project, Bahrami wrote in an email. He didn’t provide additional details on the project or construction timeline.

So i didn't want to start a new topic for this- but the Target on San Felipe has begun remodeling the interior of the store to fit its new store design. For example: https://people.com/home/target-new-redesigned-stores-are-open-photos/
I presume an exterior face lift is also in the works.
Sorry to poo poo on everyone's dream of Target being redeveloped into something else anytime soon.

In the past week or so, Stonelake has put up a sign advertising ground lease and built to suit for the remaining development... not sure if this is any indication of their current plans not going well or if that advertisement isn’t mutually exclusive.
Ground lease sign has been up since last July

Hopefully more of an Alessandra-type downgrade and not a Randall Davis, wish-it-hadn't-been-built type job.
Edit: Remembering some pages back, it looks like they're getting their funding from the same place as Randall Davis does.
The "D" in DC Partners literally refers to Randall Davis.

Interesting that they're contemplating a red line extension to Missouri City.

The rightmost parking area already exists and is under the transmission lines that run adjacent to the train tracks.
The dark green plot along westheimer is the only other portion that will be developed. The two green areas to the north will remain as park space.

Getting shorter? Gables Westcreek is 15 stories, so about the same height as The Wilshire. The building(s) to the north looks about the same height and the one fronting San Felipe (which is supposed to be an office building), across from Arabella is about 8, which seems right as RD doesn’t want to obstruct his condo views. These building were always in the plans.
The building(s) in-between gables and the office building are likely the two high-rise apartment buildings referenced in this 4 year old article.

Under their "projects" tab, 3/10 of their other listed developments are W hotels (one dual branded with Element). @monarch could finally be getting his wish.
Their other projects are a majority NYLO (5/10) and one Element.
Just based on the way it looks, my money is on a W. NYLO brand is brick/ industrial (not glass) and not as vertical.

There's construction signage up for another new restaurant, a Mediterranean place called Ouzo Bay. Looks like it will face Westheimer between Saint Bernard and Bisou.
Yup, Ouzo Bay and a sister concept, Loch Bar, were announced a while back but haven't started construction until recently. Until recently, the inside of each unoccupied space was literally dirt. So that explains why the new concepts have taken a while to open (e.g. MAD).
