  2. http://edge-re.com/Properties/Houston/~MontroseBlvdWestGraySt-Lease/MontroseBlvdWestGraySt-Lease.pdf Updated leasing brochure. Entire first floor has been leased to a medical office, so the streetside renderings of diners was for naught.
  3. There will always be a few a-holes that will ruin it for the rest of us but all-in-all people are pretty responsible and considerate. The benefits outweigh the small nuisances.
  4. I'm not too concerned with their being over-saturation. Finn Hall and Conservatory are more casual options, while Bravery and especially Lyric Market, appear to be going for the more upscale experience. There's plenty going on downtown these days to support them all, and I think that Lyric and Bravery will draw people in town.

  7. Retail and grocers wont come into downtown until there are more residents, which, even if there's a DTLI-redux or an oil-boom, will be another 5-10 years. More hotels are nice, but unless there's more for people to do downtown then they will really only benefit business travelers/convention-goers. Hotels in-and-of-themselves don't promote tourism unless they have world-class amenities (e.g. rooftop pools, day/night clubs, connected retail centers). The best thing Houston could do is allow casinos.

  9. " The interest-bearing loan, along with the equity provided to date (the majority coming from Texas entrepreneurs) will provide enough funding for all activities required for the project to reach financial close, according to a statement. With this injection of funds, Texas Central can move ahead on permitting, design, and engineering and to begin construction by 2019" http://houston.culturemap.com/news/innovation/09-18-18-texas-high-speed-train-project-texas-central-loan-dallas-houston-jbic-join/#slide=0

  12. Mendocino Farms is awesome. Such an exciting addition to Downtown. I’m happy that Houston is the first city for expansion outside of California. Looks like we’ll get at least two locations with Rice Village and Downtown.
  13. So Radom is coming in and buying up a strip center on Westheimer and bringing a more walkable, integrated development... Win win. Cant wait for all the strip centers heading into Midtown to be gone. Especially the mattress stores.

  15. I don't know how someone could look at that marketing brochure and not deduce that Lovett is expanding the "Arts District"/"Sawyer Yards".

  17. Spent the weekend in Austin, which has these everywhere downtown. I was skeptical of them at first, but boy we enjoyed getting around on them. Having these in Houston would do wonders to connect the sprawling entertainment zones. Downtown, Discovery Green, Midtown, Eado, and Washington Ave would be SO much easier to travel between and would make the ITL experience so much more enjoyable for visitors. These could even work in the Museum District, Montrose, The Heights, Buffalo Bayou Park, Memorial Park, Highland Village and Post Oak/Galleria.
