A plumbing permit was purchased yesterday for 2507 Times Blvd in Rice Village.

    Details from the permit:

    • FCC Group: Demo; other building(s)

The permit is in preparation of the demolition of the unit previously occupied by Beautique Day Spa / Salon. Beautique relocated nearby to 5520 Weslayan St.

The impending demolition is part of yet-to-be-announced plans Rice Management Co. has for the entire block the salon once occupied. More about that in this post above.

With yesterday's demolition permit purchase, 2507 Times Blvd (Beautique Day Spa / Salon's former spot) will likely be razed soon.

I'm patiently awaiting Rice Management Co.'s plans for this northwest portion of Rice Village. Hopefully there will be an announcement in the coming months.

Atlas is a cocktail bar in Dallas. Their concept is similar to Houston's Traveler's Table, but with cocktails. Small plated dishes are also on the menu.

...A description of the bar from their website:

Atlas is a cocktail bar that transports guests to all corners of the world through specialty drinks that pay homage to different cultures and celebrate diversity. With its Edgar Allan Poe-inspired interiors and sophisticated, low-light decor, Atlas is a refined space where cocktails, design, and culture collide.

Chron.com published an article yesterday on Atlas. The cocktail bar is slated to open next year at 729 W 19th St.

Unfortunately, the article doesn't provide further details beyond what's been posted here. The reporter was unable to get a comment from the bar's owners.

Drove by this a few times over the weekend it looks like Tin Drum threw in the towel, lights were off both Friday and Saturday nights during dinner hour.

Based on recently purchased permits, it appears the unit Tin Drum occupied at The Vic at Interpose is leased.

Several sign-related permits were purchased yesterday for 1111 Shepherd Dr, Suite 100:

    • Sign site inspection
    • Sign plan review

    Details from the permit:

    • Use: New wall 12 X 4 Turmeric; new wall 19 X 2 Turmeric
    • FCC Group: Non-residential alteration

It appears a restaurant by the name of Turmeric is slated to open at 1111 Shepherd Dr, Ste 100. I don't know the kind of restaurant this will be. It could be an Indian restaurant. There's an Indian eatery out in Katy with the same name. I don't know if the two are related.

Buffalo Bayou Brewing Company is no longer operating at Sawyer Yards.

A lockout notice is posted on the grounds of the local brewery. In a CultureMap article published today, the lockout is due to "non-payment of rent."

Buffalo Bayou Brewing Company operated at 2101 Summer St.

    Additional details from the article:

Sawyer Yards owner Jon Deal served Buffalo Bayou CEO William McLucas with a notice of default at noon. Via that document, he terminated the brewery’s lease on its building at 2101 Summer St.

“There were so many stories and promises and things that just didn’t materialize that we didn’t see the possibility of a workout,” said Deal, adding that he had encouraged McLucas to gather a group of investors with turnaround experience. “We were happy to sit down and listen, but we haven’t heard back from him.”

Cityliving doesn't have "constant" deletions.  He  hasn't posted anything since February.  His black boxes will be memories soon enough, as the threads move on.

With all due respect, Cityliving does constantly delete his images. Constantly, as all of us know, is defined as "with regular occurrence." The person does exactly this.

It's not only my observation, but @rechlin's, and several other members who have posted about his actions in a number of topics where there are pages filled with Cityliving's deleted images. You may not be aware of it, but it doesn't make it any less so.

Many of us regulars see this pattern of his over and over: Makes rude comments about one specific user's drone shots, complains about not being valued when he receives backlash for his comments or not enough likes, then deletes his images from Imgur. Rinse and repeat.

To that point,  Cityliving is free to do whatever he wishes with his photos. Many members appreciate his contributions. However, we also feel shafted each time he takes his anger out on the entire forum by removing his photos en masse whenever he feels unappreciated. To my understanding, that's not the spirit of this forum.

I'll leave it at that and won't derail this topic any further.

Never mind. STK Steakhouse is listed in a LoopNet listing for Galleria Park I and Galleria Park II.

    From the listing:

  18. A proposed Class 2 subdivision replat (C2R) named SF Investments Commercial Development was submitted last week. The replat consists of the following parcels:

    • 90 Tuam St
    • 2405 Genesee St

The reason for replat is "to create one unrestricted reserve." According to proposed replat, the reserve size is 0.14 acres. I'm unsure if this will be discussed at this week's planning commission meeting.

2405 Genesee St is currently home to local Italian restaurant Elro. The Cellarette is coming soon to 90 Tuam, as mentioned previously. It's a food and beverage concept from the proprietor of Elro.
