  1. I can understand and respect the for wanting some of the older styles. Now if they want to make the car "Cherry", then good for them. Add some nice looking rims? Okay. I'm down with it. Put a sweet paint job on it? That's not far off. But to spend as much as a small luxury car with 6 monitors, spinners, a speaker system that should blast at a concert is a bid crazy. Add to the fact that SOME (remember, I said SOME) live in beaten down neighborhoods is just totally outlandish. If people spent as much time and money advancing their education and careers, the ghettos would be as big as they are and would have a smaller population.
  2. See, that makes more sense to me. I know there are certain things that seem to be unique to us down here. Met many from Northern Europe that absolutely adore the "novelty" of being able to eat outside and watching women wearing "skimpy" clothing and take advantage to eat at the various places that offer an outdoor deck. Just like I'm not fond of people trying to copy a sense of style (be it music, fashion, whatever) from someone else, I find it frustrating when it is done architecturally.
  3. ...and for your additional amusement/enlightenment, a Wiki page for the FSM.
  4. I think a trolly might be a good idea, but have the routes and locations where walking isn't as feasible but there is enough people that live/work in the area. A good example would be a trolly that would circulate around the River oaks center to and from Main street or Richmond lines, or a have one that goes from one or two entrances (and points near there) of the ship channel to the harrisburg line. I'm sure once traffic is heavy enough, some routes might even be able to support a BRT in the future.
  5. I think of him more of a Douche' then a tool, but whatever. The thing that slightly in his favor is that he generally do the civil rights/uplifting songs. Personally, I think two early albums were the best, but for over 20 yrs they have been doing good stuff overall.
  6. Yeah, the docks are going to be interesting. If I remember correctly, the docks are locaded in an alley behind fiesta. ijust hope they eningeer enough room to move those monster around, but then again, they could schedule for deliveries at night...
  7. Didn't I also mention they were tools? You didn't dispute they act like it. I like MM's music, but I just don't like HIM. Hell, even 50 cent has mellowed out and is as far as what he used to be and derides those singers for acting too big for their britches. You mentioned 8 artists that actually try to give out a positive message, but 3 of them are tools. At least that's how they portrayed themselves on the shows they were on. Of course, we all know what a class act Mr. West is.
  8. LOL. I would be willing to accept that. Isn't science trying to figure out what god (if there was one) had in mind?
  9. Turned out they were filming again on sunday, so I shot a few more pics. It definitely looks like a car commercial. 2011 Model?
  10. I've listened to most of those, except for Chamillionare, and didn't really care for most except for Outkast and Eminem. Most of those people (including Eminem) are tools. They carry themselves like gangsta wannabe's and act as if they were the greatest artists since Jesus.
  11. Then perhaps we should parse out this/these mini sidebars?
  12. Oh. Okay. Didn't realize it was hip to sing about nothing but shooting people, drugs, cops, and just getting as wasted as possible. In the 70's, they mostly talked about drugs, but at least they just talked about the whacked out dreams they had with them.
  13. How can I respect music that shows complete disrespect of women and society overall? And don't tell me because they sing what they know, flowers grow in ghettos too.
  14. I don't understand why people are comforted by seeing things that remind them of home. To me its akin to those annoying american tourists that go to rome and head for the nearest McDonalds. While it would be difficult to make any urban development NOT resemble something european, I would like to know if it would be possible to make distinctly american.
  15. Gee. Who knew they made a Mercedes in a "drive by shooting" style? What model is this?
  16. Trying to get some pics of downtown (too darned cloudy), I noticed something odd by the Hyatt. Turns out they were shooting some street scenes. Anyone have a clue as to what it is for? I don't think it was for tree of life, though. They had a kia sportage with out plates. I will try to post pics later.
  17. it would make sense for them to wait until most of the electrical wiring is done before they are installed.
  18. Why can't the two come together? Couldn't it be possible that evolution was PART of his plan? And who truly knows if we are in his image? Coukdnt it be possible we will eventually evolve into his image? We cannot possibly know what god (if there is one) thinks. To do so would put you on the same plane as Robertson.
  19. Brief enough. The thing that gets me is on how fanatical can be on both sides. Do I believe in Evolution? yes. Do I believe there is a god? yes. Do I believe that the world as I know it was created by a higher entity? Maybe. But few people take that position. I know there are agnostics here (myself included) with a few atheists that poo on whatever god/religion thing that is discussed. Then there are those that do believe in religion and god and decree everything that is done IS because of god. I am somewhat in the middle of that, and I think the world would be a better place if people are willing to take a critical view of whatever belief they have as well as their own. Yes, God gave people free will, but every once in awhile, you'd figure god was just shake his head at the behavior of some people, hit a few keys on his version of the computer and type out, "You shall be reset, Ni!"
  20. Umm..Yah! Explain the platypus, or north korea. Of course, I like Robin Williams version of god being high and making snakes is easier and more fun to make.
  21. Then beat him down like a red headed step child.
  22. I care. Something had to be done to provoke the teacher into such a rage. Did he smack his gum too loudly? Did he snort when she made a comment? Did he grab her bottom? Did he call her a derogatory name? It's all a matter of context and it actually could have bearing on a future lawsuit. I've talked to a few teachers after this incident and this is a fantasy of many of them. There are kids in the classroom that they would LOVE to beat over the head like this woman did to her student, but they're all restrained by rules, regulations, and wimpy/entitled parents. Bring back paddling, I say.
  23. anyone going? I'd love to know the skinny from the meeting.
  24. As a believer of "Evolution", the "truth" is out there. I'm still a fond believer that the universe is a CIV game on a grand scale and we're the butt of some giant joke. Some more than others. Am I open to God created us? Yes, I am; but if that would be the case, we didn't just pop out in various human forms and looked for apples from forbidden trees. Why couldn't it simply just as easily accept that God yawned in boredom and knocked over a lab experiment that knocked over a beaker or something and we're merely an incredibly huge puddle of chemicals on the floor waiting for a mop?
