I talked with someone who works for the McNair corporation and he said it is still definitely a go on the project. However he said they will have to modify the design slightly because of the land they had to sell to the city for the widening of Post Oak. Also when the hell is Post Oak going to be finished? I looks like its been 90% done for months now.
Awesome!
Also, less land = higher buildings, right? 🤞- 1

They're redesigning. Building a lot less retail (still plenty) and a lot more residential.
Hopefully no loss of height or number of highrises!- 2

A Houston developer wants to build a marina-resort and high-rise development in Kingwood. Many residents oppose the project, alleging that it would greatly increase the risk of flooding.
Kingwood suffered some of the worst flooding in Houston during Harvey, and the proposed development by Romerica Investments sits right in the 100-year floodplain.
“We’ve had an additional six events down in River Grove Park, which is very adjacent to this development, since Harvey and the continued flooding of our streets,” said Kingwood resident Barbara Hilburn.
Hilburn fears the development would also damage wetlands, including nesting sites for bald eagles. She and other residents are pressing for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to deny permits for the development – or at least to delay them until the City of Houston and the Harris County Flood Control District have had a chance to complete their impact studies.
The video below by the architecture firm behind the design, Rome-based Torrisi & Procopio Architetti, outlines the proposed project in more detail:

Boutique-hotel-planned-for-the-Heights
QuoteA developer wants to build a boutique hotel at the corner of West 20th and Ashland streets, a property where a historic 1904 home was recently demolished.
The plan for the site includes a five-story hotel catering to visiting friends and relatives of Heights residents, according to documents filed with the city of Houston's Planning & Development Department.
The group proposing the 37-room hotel -- to be called Maison Robert -- is seeking permission to build the hotel's gift shop closer to W. 20th Street than what's normally allowed.
It's also asking for an off-street parking variance, explaining that not all hotel guests will have cars and are expected to walk or bike to area shops and restaurants. The plan calls for 19 parking spaces to be provided on the same parcel as the hotel and 13 spaces across Ashland Street replacing a floral shop.
Large Live Oaks along Ashland and W. 20th will be preserved and new trees will be planted, according to the variance request. The hotel will have a courtyard, swimming pool and a rooftop terrace.
The 28,000-square-foot property at 347 W. 20th traded hands in May to a group called Wood Lane Partners. The variances are on the agenda for Thursday afternoon's planning commission meeting.

Was browsing the proposed cases to the FAA and found crane and building cases for "Millenium at Midtown" (misspelling and all). Likely another 7ish story midrise from the Dinerstien Company. Looks like this will be at 1920 W Alabama where an older 2 story complex stood. I searched and couldn't find another thread on this development, please merge if it already exists.

I've heard a few sets of people talk about opening Meyerland's first brewery. Is there a Meyerland, Bellaire, West U brewery?
I'd be at a Meyerland / Bellaire brewery every weekend. I hope there's some truth to these rumors! That area seems to be in a dead zone for breweries.- 1

So from the address it looks like this is going on the site of the big parking lot just north of the VA? They semi-recently installed large canopies there to make it covered parking, but I guess those will be gone soon. If that lot goes it's going to make VA parking a lot more difficult.
QuoteThis is a partnership with the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center which will share the hotel’s new seven-story parking garage as the VA shares the property with the hotel.
