I know nothing but this is LEED 4 Platinum does that interest GE, who bring good things to life?
Everyone is interested in LEED, its trendy, erm, saving the environment (multiple boxes of LEED paperwork at a time).

Only if you experience symptoms of acrophobia. But yeah, word of the day goes to you
Oh no no, mollusk picked it, I just want the whose line is it anyways variety of points for using it.
And I don't have acrophobia, but clearly, some of our other viewers do. The skylounge is dangerous, l'appel du vide.

^ Interesting on the notch.
And exactly what I was thinking about the one on Post Oak! Just tailor the store to the area's vibe & needs - they've done it before, as witnessed other places.

I may be misguided as well, I thought Market Square is in the Historic District.
The podium/ garage on the Hines job aesthetically fits. I mean, it had to go through the historic planning commish for approval to keep from the generic ugly precast garages we usually see (this is why I am confused as to how this isn't in a historic district). What's wrong with a garage if it fits in?
As for the current lot - would something like a Whole Foods or Central Market not be a good fit? They'd be utilized by the surrounding area at lunch and if they (WF) upped their bar area knowing where its going, why not?

Can't wait! Looks like just parking is 2 stories? Either way, new store will be awesome, the existing store... Not so bueno and I like HEB. It'll save me a drive over to the West U Kroger.

In Boston, the new Ritz-Carlton towers rose in the Combat Zone. A place where hookers and hustlers worked their blocks next to porn theaters and tittle bars.
The two towers house a condo portion, a hotel portion, a huge Sports Club LA gym, and a multi-plex movie theatre.
Multimillion dollar question : how's that working out for them?

Practice.
Oh heaven forbid Kelvin Sampson hears anyone say that. And I quote (seriously) "This is not a practice facility, we practice where we play." He mentioned something about it being a development building or something like that. Whatever. Its call the practice facility no matter how much the coach wants to yell at people about it.
I digress. Aside from just the practice facility building they are working through concepts for reskinning Hofheinz to make it less of an eye sore.

2 1/2 courts in total. One for the men. One for the women. And a half court. Also, coaches' offices, meeting rooms, training rooms, and academic space.
The tennis complex is moving forward. Over $2 million raised. New plan calls for 6 indoor courts and 12 outdoor courts which will allow UH and Zina Garrison's Academy to bid on NCAA and USTA events.
Baseball is rumored to be adding a new facility down the left field line that will include a two story batting cage, new player lounge, and a VIP/Club seating area for fans. When completed, baseball will donate the old batting cage building to the tennis team and ZGA providing even more opportunities for programing for after school events with ZGA.
When is the tennis complex slated to go? They did prelim budgets based on conceptuals close to a 2 years ago... I'm curious to see if they start back there or if they are farther along with drawings then they were then.

Does anyone else see a slight height difference between 11-12?

Based on that image it looks like that may be correct; it definitely jumps in height.

Welcome to the Forum, thank you for the pictures, and care to spill any beans of what might go on this lot if anything?
Thank you, you're welcome, and for the near future its going to still be parking to the best of my knowledge.

If it goes on another lot in downtown then that means it's a lot owned by Linbeck, right?
Do you know why they would build it on another lot as opposed to this one? Gonna build on a cheaper block for bigger returns?
Oh no, that was speculation. They have a concept developed, its pretty, I just hope it won't die and they'll find somewhere to put it. I can damn near guarantee it won't be going on the other lot you refer to either.

You the operator?
Negative ghostrider. Would be a very cool job, but I am far to social to sit isolated for 10-12 hours a day.

I hate to be a killjoy... this tower may go up *somewhere* in downtown at some point, but I have on very good authority this won't be happening on this particular lot.

A couple of months back (April?) development sent out asking for pricing updates on the project. But this would be the 3rd or 4th time they asked people to price and it didn't seem like much came of it; my understanding was it was purely a budget update and no design change since early last year. I personally like the building and think it would be a good add, but with all the stop start on this and with the way oil is (market fluctuations were the reason the project kept getting put on hold) it seems like it'll never happen.

Well, my “hand over the fence” shots seem pretty bush league now.
Thanks for sharing, hope the water didn’t hurt anything important.
Your hand over the fence shots were pretty good - we were speculating on whether you just got a good zoom through fence or climbed up something. Mystery solved!
Progress is relatively important; I cannot wait to get elevated and get out of the mud!

Since I have shamelessly stalked this forum since precon, figured I'd start sharing:
Panorama from today (need to work on settings to get wider angle)
And backtracking a smidge, pouring of the big cap:
(again, bad panorama, the cap is not wobbly like that!)
The post memorial weekend aftermath:
