  1. It's easy to forget how massive Dallas is when you're not there.  I drove DTD on my way back to Houston last week, and was taken aback by all the construction in Victory/Uptown/Downtown/whatever it's called.

Dallas has also been more aggressive about building residential towers than Downtown Houston... until recently.  Now we've got several going at once, which is a first for Houston.

BTW JasonDTX thanks for snapping that EPIC pic!!!

Thanks TTS but I cant take credit for that pic. I didnt take it. Lol. I just dig for good pics on the net and show them here. :P

I snagged that pic off of Skyscraper city. y'all need to check that place out. Great pics and updates. Thats where most of my content comes from. If I find more cool pics I'll show em. :D

  2. Fountain Place is the most beautiful building in Dallas.  As far as GO COWGIRLS Detroit should have beat them.  Everybody in sports knows that the officials are paid off.  The greedy owner always has something up his sleeve.  No flag on that call and the media is still talking about it.

Bad calls happen all the time in the NFL for numerous teams. One went for us against Detroit. One went against us in GB. Its just the way it is.

Trammell Crow bidg some nice towers next to Klyde Warren. They look nice. The previous renderings for them were really sexy but supposedly those designs would have caused more "towering infernos" like the Museum Tower. These designs looking good though. With the Azure, Blue Ciel and this TC residential tower all over 30 stories its good to see Uptown finally get some height!

Now if we could only get a 600footer in the middle of Uptown to top it off. :P

The 19-story Park District Tower will sit on Pearl Street with about 502,000 square feet of Class A office space and 9,000 square feet of retail at the base of the tower. The development group plans to build multiple outdoor terraces, a fitness facility, a full conference facility with meeting rooms and a grand lobby with hotel-like space for informal meetings.

Trammell Crow Co.'s residential subsidiary, High Street Residential, will develop the 32-story Residences at Park District, which will sit on Olive Street. The tower will total about 255 residential homes with 13,000 square feet of retail space fronting Klyde Warren Park.

The residents will have access to an amenity deck and pool overlooking Klyde Warren Park and the downtown skyline. The tower will also have a fitness center, valet and concierge services.
Construction is expected to start on the towers this year.

  4. The Bleu Ciel's rendering looks amazing. It will be a great addition to the area. I also like that residential building left of Frost Tower in the picture.

Yea I like that one too.I believe that's the Azure. The Bleu Ciel is supposed the have the same amount ot stories yes sit slightly taller than it. (??)

I heard the BC is on slightly more elevated ground.

  5. Well, well, hello HINES..Thought this project was dead.... Looks like this one might actually be a GO... YaY!

Only 23 stories but gorgeous. Thanks for coming up here and showing Dallas how to get it done!

Houston-based developer Hines is teaming up with Cousins Properties Inc. to break ground next year on a 23-story office tower in Dallas’ Victory Park project.

The 466,000-square-foot glass high-rise will be the largest office project in the 75-acre development on the northwest corner of downtown Dallas.

The new tower called Victory Center – designed by Duda/Paine Architects – would open in 2017 on Houston Street southwest of the American Airlines Center arena.

“It’s a 23-month construction period,” said Hines’ Heath Johnson, who heads the company’s Dallas development operations. “When you look at how well the other projects in the area have done, there is definitely room to grow in this market.”

Hines said its One Victory Park tower, which is located next door to the new office building site, is more than 90 percent leased. That building opened in 2008 and is 17 stories.

Several other new office buildings now going up in Dallas’ Uptown district and downtown are substantially leased.

    :P

  6. Perot's 1.75 acre site is zoned for 1.5 mil sq feet. That would put it in the neighborhood of the new 50-story Chevron Tower here, which is for 1.7 mil square ft on 2 acres.

    Wrong..

Its zoned for an excess if 1.5mil sq ft

    With NO height limit.

I just got off a 12 hour shift. Going to bed. You can look up the link for yourself.

  7. I don't believe it there is a height limit to LUV Field.  That is why the buildings are about 600 feet.

Not sure what this Turkish plan height limit is zoned for.. But what you say is not true for all of downtown.

The Perot/HOK project next to fountain place is zoned for NO height limit.

  8. /How does museum tower not represent the market for million dollar condos in downtown?/

Because all the condos downtown are not priced at a million dollars.

Why should the million dollar price range represent the condo segment as a whole?

  9. Not to mention the dozens of empty condos in museum tower... This project just seems like a flop from the get go.

You guys love to keep mentioning the Museum Tower however its situation does not represent the whole Dallas condo market  or even just the downtown market figures. Its situation is not a microcosm for the city.

And did you just say dfw is becoming the central logistics hub for North America? Omg this is too funny. Don't like 7 of the 8 busiest rail lines in the country run through CHICAGO??? You guys will never pass them.

I dont know about all that but major logistics companies from Chicago like ODW are expanding and even moving to Dallas and  seeing massive growth. I know because I worked for them this summer. Also it seems every 3rd Dallasite here is a Chicagoan transplant. Seems theyre all moving here.

  10. This developer does dream big and aim high!

Seems pretty unlikely that will happen as described - but if he can achieve even 10% of that, would be a good win for that side of downtown

Agreed! 4 big towers seems crazy but you have to respect his determination. Heck give us just one.

But could you imagine if the 4 towers actually did get made? It would change the whole scene of the city. Wow.

Here's to hoping he has great success. I'll even congratulate him on a 10 story building. lol :P

  11. Yea thats why I crossed out Pacific Plaza on my reply after reading the article. It's seems Sarimsakci wants towers and not to get caught up in all the pacific plaza park and automatic garage complications.

"I just wanna build some towers dammit Forget all that other stuff!":) I like how he thinks! :P

  12. With the price of curtain wall glass soaring as it is, hopefully HOK builds a shell that frames the views and isn't just another 1980s shiny prism.

Thats a great design though I've seen a pic one similar to that in China that I like better. Can't find the pic though, So many cool designs to choose from these days. I'd like it to stand out but not be too goofy either. :)
