I don't think Mill Creek has released any info about this project yet. Our group of insiders seem to be able to find this info if it's available. The tower cranes don't have climbers on them so it's unlikely the building will be any higher than the cranes. Probably 6- 8 stories high mid rise.

About the climbers. I saw one on the Allen project crane the other day (on the webcam) and they ended up adding at least 2 section to the crane so I guess they can be removed and put back on if needed.

Please don't tell me they are going to leave it like that.

Aren't they at least going to put a screen around the garage instead of leaving it open and exposed?

I wouldn't count on it. The Mosaic Condominiums did nothing to cover their garage and their buildings are much nicer that this soviet block looking building.

In late 2019, Houston saw the opening of Cambria Hotel Houston Downtown Convention Center at 1314 Texas Ave., the historic building formerly known as the Great Southwest Building and the Petroleum Building; and AC Hotel by Marriott Houston Downtown, the 105-year-old building at 723 Main St., which most recently served as The Houston Bar Center.

How did I not know about this. So glad these old buildings are being used and not torn down.

  4. Soooo glad you posted this I was about to ask if they needed to do anything to cool down pours this big. I'm a decent history buff and have heard a 100 times about how they had to run cooling pipes in the Hover dam because the heat generated would be immense and I was wondering if pours of this size needed cooling down too.

Interesting, there are hundreds of robberies reported in Galleria and it's a nicely developed area. "Redeveloping" an area to force life long residents out of their neighborhoods isn't the solution to crime. Suggesting to simply replace them is a privilege because they have no choice. No one else wanted to reside in these neighborhoods because of who was there. Now suddenly it needs to be redeveloped to fit the needs of those who moved far away to be "better off".

So what's you'r solution to the crime?

I'm with you. However, lots of folks will think "they wouldn't let them build here if it wasn't safe". Personally, I am not going to live on the former site of a forging company, corrosion protection, electroplating, or other polluting business.

I'm with you just look in to the whole Love canal disaster.
