  1. Yeah. It’s ugly—unfortunately, the Livable Places ordinance won’t come in time to make the levels be covered. The one positive I can find is that the parking podium at least looks like it’s designed with flat levels that can be repurposed down the line.
  2. I snapped this on my flight today. Definitely gaps between prominent towers but the skyline is more like a mountain range in the Rockies with lower peaks between the taller ones.
  3. I’d think Hyatt Centric would also work for a smaller-scale hotel.
  4. Ah. This one, as it turns out, is owned by an entity controlled by these guys: https://relatedgroup.com
  5. On the advice of Jack Easterby, McNair Interests has traded the Rosewood Hotel anchored tower for 12-story stucco Hampton Inn.
  6. From the sounds of it, the hotel would be prioritized in the next phase. The skybridge over Fannin would be interesting.
  7. Kimpton could use a site in Houston following the foreclosure of the Caydon development.
  8. Yep. I met with a client in the lobby to go over a bunch of documents without issue. Common Bond’s frozen bond is on point.
  9. I thought Southeastern out of Georgia was the group that owns the entity “SEK Yoakum Lovett, LLC.” https://www.southeastern.company/portfolio/
  10. Golly, 512’ is quite a bit of height for a residential structure with only 30 stories. For comparison, Skyscraper Center says L’Colombe D’Or Tower is 452’ with 34 floors.
  11. Goodness, the interest rate on the loan for what I’m guessing is the purchase of this property is an eye watering 11.99%: Edit: I think financing a purchase with a hard money loan does not bode well for this development. This company (Deccan Development) already lost the land for the Chelsea to foreclosure back in 2021, even though they still list the project on their website.
  12. This appears to be the company behind the replat: https://www.us-living.com Jinx 😊
  13. There were 5 deeds recorded on this property this past January, from 7200 Main Corporation to 5 different entities for 5 different portions (7200 Center 1, Inc., 7200 Center 2, Inc., etc.). I’m guessing this portends a 5 building plan for the site. Edit: Deeds can be found as Harris County Clerk File Nos. RP 2022-3138 through RP 2022-3142.
  14. I love this kind of scale. A wonderful way to modestly boost density with infill.
  15. No. What am I looking for? Is it the spire on the outline of the building in the background?
  16. I was promised this tower in 2013. Where’s my goddamn tower, Chevron? The Museo Plaza 58-story tower.
  17. So, to sum up, Related Companies and Related Group are related companies, but Related Group is not the same as Related Companies.
  18. But yes, it looks like Related Group is the particular company looking in Texas. A fellow named Kevin Wisdom signed the “Notice to Purchaser,” and the article below indicates he’s part of Related Group: https://www.dallasnews.com/business/real-estate/2017/12/15/miami-real-estate-billionaire-with-trump-ties-opens-dallas-office/?outputType=amp Edit: @Urbannizer - I guess a more appropriate title would be “Related Group” not “Related Companies,” because although the entities are related, they apparently are not closely related. 😆
