  1. They have a new sign up. Resolute Fitness, Posh Salon, and the Eye Gallery are new tenants. It had said Aveda prior, leaving me to believe Posh is an Aveda salon. Still looks likes we are several months away from opening.
  2. Dec 2012. I don't think they intend to develop it short term. Just looking for cash-flow and a longer term capital gain investment, but that's just a hunch of mine. Given when they bought it and prices today, they may make a tidy profit flipping it to a developer.   3. Nice shots. I live in the lofts too. Hoping it takes a while for that old retail at Moes that Zadok bought last year to get developed so all our views don't get ruined.
  4. I can't see rich people wanting to give up that much freedom/privacy. The hassle would be immense particularly around peak times. I've never been in the Cosmo garage but I've seen inside and it looks to be designed similarly to this, except this is smaller.
  5. I'm still trying to figure out how parking in the garage is going to work. It really does look wide enough for two cars going up/down at the same time
  6. Randall Davis has been attempting to buy that complex out. Not sure as to the success of that endeavor. March 25th, 2014 - All Unit Owners/Members , Inverness Townhome Association Re: Commercial Contract B Unimproved Property dated July 17, 2013, by and between Inverness Townhome Association as Seller and Randall Davis Company as Buyer, as amended (the "Contract") As you may know, the closing of the above referenced Contract set for Friday, March 21, 2014, did not take place. The Association acting in its capacity as Trustee for the unit owners tendered performance to the title company in accordance with the terms of the Contract. However, the Buyer failed to perform and did not tender payment by good and valid funds. The Association did receive the earnest money which under the latest contract extension was agreed to be non-refundable and released to the Association. Therefore, the condominium regime was not terminated. The Association shall continue to operate and administer the property commonly known as Inverness Townhomes. The individual "distribution" statements and leases are not valid and of no force and effect. The Board of Directors will "reach-out" to several prospective buyers who have informally contacted them in the upcoming weeks. The Board of Directors will present any written offers to the unit owners with its recommendations. At least eighty percent (80%) of the unit owners must approve any new contract to sell the property. The Board of Directors had previously waived the March 2014 assessment. The Board of Directors has also decided to waive the April 2014 assessment. However, as of Thursday, May 1, 2014, all unit owners shall be obligated to begin paying their monthly maintenance assessments again. The Association will be sending notice of the 2014 Annual Meeting in the next few weeks. The Annual Meeting will provide an opportunity for the Association to provide more specific information regarding the closing that did not occur, as well as a discussion regarding potential new offers.
  7. Huge lot of land? It's pretty small. If a residential tower was built there an entire side would look into the cosmo. It makes no sense to do that as no one would want to buy a unit. I think you must be confused on the location or something. RD has a lot on his plate right now. The Astoria IS the Titan with an altered name. He will have less than zero interest in the AmREIT property.
  8. The amreit property is nearly directly in front of the Cosmo. Anything tall built there will block the view of at least half of that side's view. I agree that eventually that'll happen, but RD certainly wouldn't want to really piss off former customers.

  10. Ultimately more segments will need to be made one way like west alabama. It will be interesting to see how a suburban layout ultimately deals with urban development. Late last year they had the traffic counting ropes all over the place in uptown. I can't help but think they're looking into how to alter the logistics to make things work better.
  11. They're moving painfully slow finishing up the retail portion. So much for the 'Opening Early 2014' on the sign at the intersection. The Whole Foods website says the store will open Summer 2014. At this rate, that'll be September.
  12. I got that last view driving home yesterday afternoon as well and it was really stunning in person. Not sure why they had a Astoria crane hanging over Post Oak though.
  13. Hermes is definitely moving to Highland Village unless all their employees are misinformed (as much as I hate to see that happen)

Also in the earnings release: During the third quarter of 2013, we began the process of terminating leases with or relocating tenants occupying a portion of our Uptown Park property which we refer to as the Baker Site and our Courtyard at Post Oak property at Post Oak and San Felipe in Houston, in order to prepare those sites for vertical re-development.   16. I look at that last picture update and all I can think about are how many people in the building are going to hit each other/concrete poles navigating the garage.
  17. I don't really understand the uptown/downtown bashing. Downtown is walkable and so is Uptown provided you looking both ways before you (run) cross the street. Downtown doesn't provide many options for a resident of downtown to walk to. I looked at living downtown but in Uptown I can walk to my gym, walk to the mall, walk to meet friend for drinks, and soon can walk to Whole Foods for my groceries. It's not perfect, nor will we all ever agree it is, but Uptown has a compelling mix of commercial, residential, and retail. Downtown hasn't been able to really get the residential/retail side of the equation right. They are both great developing areas and i hope both areas continue to see a lot of growth. Downtown also has the homeless issue to contend with that Uptown hasn't developed yet. I've always wondered why there aren't many homeless people around the Galleria. Do the cops force them out or something?
  18. Thank SkylineView, you're the best. Maybe I'm partial since I live here, but Uptown is really getting a great mix of residential/commercial/retail to become the gem of the city over the next decade.
  19. I really hope this building doesn't end up looking like The Mark, because that's where it looks like it's going.
  20. Does anyone know what color the building is actually supposed to be? The model makes it appear to be white?
