According to this sign this is phase 3, the apartments just east must have been phase 1 and I assume La Tapatia will be 2.

I think Phase 1 is the building on the right, and Phase 2 was the building on the left (closest to Richmond). Google Earth history shows the one on the left was built after the initial building and they have slightly different styles.

Looking at the renders, I was curious to know if besides this project and those apartments going up in TMC also, how common it is to see underground cisterns built under projects to hold stormwater here in Houston?

I think we'll be seeing it more with the new on-site detention requirements. Not sure if that's for the city or county and just something I heard... inb4 "welllllll accckshulllllyyyyy" from the "experts"

  3. Those images are form Maxar's satillite, and I don't know if that's "official" Google Earth imagery. If you have to go through the hoop to find it I would think there's more official imagery that's coming for the default view when you first launch it.

This is not an update, but a quick observation.  I've long felt that if SpaceX moved its headquarters to Houston (which I honestly believe may happen) that outside of the new Houston spaceport, East River presents the most attractive location.

SpaceX posted 30-35 new job postings a few days ago in Houston, largely engineering positions. I'm genuinely curious on what this news means and where they are looking for offices - I'd be shocked if all these positions work from home...

Totally separate, but I find it funny Austin received so much press a few weeks ago on just a few job postings and barely any concrete news from the company ha.  Meanwhile we have almost 40 open jobs and not a peep 😂

Not questioning, just curious, but do you have a source for the job posting? I don't see anything on their website last I checked.

not a scam, I guess it depends on whether you think bitcoin (any blockchain really) is a scam.

    https://www.coindesk.com/startup-tokenizes-2-2b-in-commercial-real-estate-through-polymath

what's interesting, if you register, you get to see a 3 year balance sheet. if this is a scam, then it's just numbers on paper, but if it's for real...

they have a line called, "balance paid at project completion", which shows income in 2024.

there's also project costs area, and within that they have "hard costs" which I assume is the construction budget, it shows minimal outlays in 2022, and then substantial outlays in 2023 and 2024.

I guess we'll see in late 2022 if this is a scam or not if they start construction, and then again we'll get confirmation in 2024 if it completes. I'm inclined to believe it's not a scam, and if I were willing to toss $1000 at a weekend in Vegas, I'd probably take a chance here. but I'm just words on a computer screen, so please don't invest based on my endorsement.

Not really, I don't think bitcoin is a scam, but I can smell a sh!tcoin project from a mile away lol

  6. I heard recently that either CoH or Harris County (or both) plan review departments now require drainage on site for any plans submitted after March or April 1st. Now obviously these plans must've been submitted before but maybe they had to work out some deal. I expect a lot of onsite drainage retention for projects in the future.

  7. I still can't get over how bad the new 59/69 north flyover is from 610 with the convoluted signage. It makes you think the exit is after the 59/69 south exit, and that the lane you're supposed to be in is an exit only for the south exit. Going north used to be quick because you could drive in the third lane and pass all the cars stopped going south. Now you have to wait in line with them. It's quicker to exit Westheimer and go through the light to get onto the new on-ramp than it is staying on 610.

  8. What Big E said. The contractors will go back and add barriers to block it off like you see on many unbuilt exits (the 59/69 North to I-10 West ramp for example had at some point a planned exit to Elysian street but the letters have been removed from the sign. You can still see it if you take that exit.)
