  3. It would be cool if channel 51 or 55 the tube could become a super-station I kn ow hardly anyone watches them but heck if they had some money and bought better programs an/or produces less then 15 hours of original content they could be a super-station especially the Tube I do occasionally watch Leave It To Beaver it comes on the Tube some time around MIDday
  4. is there a nude beach off the Texas coast that is not near High Island and Galveston? Is there a nude beach near Bay City? Mustang Island? Somewhere that can be reached without a 4x4?
  5. regarding Winners. I always liked getting lost between the clothing racks. I think even back then I was too embarrassed to be seen at such a low cost store even though it was all my family could afford at the time
  6. Here is an Idea why don't one of us on here call the company and ask if this project is on track?
  7. good point texasboy, but I think their grips are rooted in the fact that Virgin is mostly a top 40 record store. [this current discussion reminds me of the movie High Fidelity with John Cusack and Jack Black. the characters in it were record sales people who were avid music listeners and were happy being the pompous elitist who held the gate key to modern music history.] However, if a Virgin record store cant attract repeat business then what good is it that it is at this development. I mean I have been to one of these stores and always thought cool I could find any thing here. But after my initial visit I did see a reason to go back. Virgin Record Stores may want to revamp their format and this a topic that could get started altogether on a different thread. I have a few Ideas but will keep them to myself at this time.
  8. that starbucks will be about two block west of this one on Gray st
  9. *eelimon hisses in anger* your no fan i cant wait for spring time again and opening day at the ballpark Way to go Astros! Thank you for an amazing season
  10. I think yes this area is in a down turn and has been since the early 80's but the area is long over due for a renewal and revitalization. I know a few gay people who moved into that area b/c they were priced out of the Montrose and the heights. But the fact it that the area needs good community leadership and a will from the people who are willing to remodel homes. The fact that gay people are moving to the area, in my opinion, will help the area in the long run b/c they are know for revitalizing neighborhoods, because they have a larger disposable income.
  11. Bryan college station won't be considered part of the Houston metro area for a long time I think the town of Navasota will see a plan community knocking at tit city limits door long before that will happen to B/CS. Besides Navasota sounds better then Bryan-College Station. I am sure I could market Navasota as a small town American with wholesome good family values. And I think at that point Houston will decide to limit sprawl and never reach the city limits of B/CS. *eelimon smiles and makes the following sound hehehehehehehehe* Seriously though there is a lot of land between Houston and B/CS. Sprawl will do its bad job sooner or later and you and I am all who post on here will be old before B/CS is considered part of Houston
  12. Citykid09 what about projects like Hardy Rail Yard Mixed use development what do you think about this? http://img185.echo.cx/img185/8975/aa38lh.jpg http://img185.echo.cx/img185/2189/aa228yr.jpg
  13. Google needs a grammar check in addition to its spell check So what is the word on Hispanics; were they allowed to live in River Oaks? Or were they just allowed to live on the East End and Spring Branch and The Heights? What neighborhood in Houston is considered to be exclusively for the rich Hispanic folk?
  14. good deal they must have heard me complain that there was no Barneys in Houston in the Pavilions thread and I was wishing they came to the Pavilions downtown but I will take it anyhow
  15. The Metropolitan Transit Authority has chosen Transwestern Development Co to develop this mixed use projects. I for one cant wait for the rest of the opportunities for mixed use development to come to fruition here is the story as told by HBJ: http://www.bizjournals.com/bizspace/housto...tory_id=1180195
  16. Chase is building a drive-through brand at Washington and studemont . wow you must be physic or something seen that you said this back in April of this year I don't see the need for a simple target format anymore I think all the Targets being built now will be super targets or a wash down version similar to the one on San Felipe
  17. It that kind of attitude that makes some neighborhoods redevelopments and low price a well kept secret. before I mean long before the heights was as popular as it is now some people said the same thing about redeveloping it, granted there are few if any mansion there but when the secret was let out; price sky-rocketed. I am a firm believer that all neighborhood inside the 610 loop will be revitalized to a point that we they all could be called gentrified
  18. Yeah I have to agree I am just happythe Astros went this far, there is always 2049. Go Stros! summer 2049! I cant wait for October of that year; they will go all the way that year!
  19. the only reason west university was developed was because Jewish people wanting to live in River Oaks but could not. Therefore, both neighborhoods have long been sought after because the people we lived in them had money. Both neighborhoods have never seen downturns when people exit the neighborhood and the properties decline in value. No most homes in both neighborhood have only appreciated in value.
  20. I turned off the TV I can't watch
  21. the first game players introduction was completely one sided all the way down to the music that was played. the song played for the Stros I had never heard and the song for the Sox was the theme from one of the Star Wars movies. geez I say we don't introduce the Sox players at all when they come and play in Houston
  22. Don't y'all think that the media does not seem to like Houston sports teams. it is like they just gloss over us very similar like when they fly over the Midwest to and from NY and LA. I think Houston is completely over looked in the media in-general.
