hindesky
Delete this if not appropriate but walking home I couldn't help but love my gorgeous neighborhood. A historical district,
trymahjong
A kindred spirit! I take my grandchildren walking along Avondale blvd under that huge tree canopy and we daydream about those old houses and what story each house could tell.I love my neighborhood then. dbigtex56
Ditto. I lived in Westmoreland for 26 years, and there's a sense of stability and serenity that seems unique to historic districts.
mkultra25
One of my favorite areas in Montrose. I lived on Audubon from 1986-1993, which obviously predated the neighborhood's designation as a historic district. The place I lived in was demoed in favor of new construction some years ago (which wasn't as great a loss as you might think, given that it wasn't particularly distinguished either as history or as architecture). Avossos
Old Sixth Ward here. Historic districts are the best... especially when they have old trees.
