  1. Texans don't have to worry because Manning has a brittle neck.
  2. Those are amazing! Thank you for posting these photos. This project is cool. But there is also bit of eeriness to it. Something about that 'evil' corporation and all those trees hiding the construction of mysterious underground tunnels to be used for God knows what. I love it.
  3. Don't worry 'bout me. I am a SERIOUS fan. Not only do I want to see the Texans win every game and go to the super bowl - I want to see them get more national media attention. That stuff is priceless. The only reason anyone ever even heard of towns like dallas, green bay and pittsburgh is because of the cowplops, the peckers and the stealers. Houston could use more time in the spotlight and Manning could bring that big time. I can't imagine him not making the Texans better in the process - it would be a gamble for sure - but so is keeping Schaub or any player. I would hate myself for a little while after replacing a perfectly good QB and all around great guy like Matt Schaub, but as a life long Houston team fan with very few rewards to help me keep my sanity - I'd try anything - Life doesn't last forever. The dark side of having Manning on board is that he would probably do for Houston what TeBoner does for Denver - if you know what I mean. It would all be about Manning, Manning and more Manning. Houston, the Texans and the fans COULD be just be an afterthought - MAYBE, but I still think riding Manning's coat tails could do wonders for Houston's PR. O.K. maybe I'm all over the map and completely wrong about everything - but please don't question my loyalty. I'd take out an entire maternity ward to see the Texans in the super bowl.
  4. But what about National Press? Houston would be the New York City of football next season. Wow! Prime time every other week, all those bone headed blow hards on ESPN yammering on and on and on about PEYTON MANNING and the houston texans. We wouldn't even need to win anymore games to be awesome on T.V.
  5. Not to mention the side bonus of the Texans and Houston getting all that priceless NATIONAL MEDIA ATTENTION! I hate the idea of throwing Schaub out like yesterday's tampons, but if Manning is really a possibility for the Texans they should spare no expense. I'd sell my sweet little old grandma to the Taliban to see Manning take a Houston team to the superbowl. But I'd say this is a long shot so granny is safe. For now.
  6. O who cares about any of that non-sense! WHAT ABOUT THE HOMELESS PROBLEMS!!!! I thought I saw someone who looked kind of poor walking by downtown the other day. Just Kidding. This is fantastic news. Who would have ever thought that HP's first real nationally known tenant was going to be NBC. I know it isn't retail, but NBC Sports will surely make HP a more attractive location for other businesses - hopefully some more cool ones like House of Blues, Lucky Strike Lanes and Pete's Dueling Piano Bar.
  7. They probably want to add more apartments since that is now a hotter commodity than when Regency Square was originally designed. Glad to hear something in a forward direction is happening - even if it's only a rumor. This could be such a huge game-changer for Houston and it hasn't been talked about much lately. It might be the biggest and coolest "urban-style" project Houston has ever had if we're lucky.
  8. I like that they still have these renderings at their website. Gives me hope that this project could still amount to something spectacular as soon as the money starts rolling again.
  9. y'all should be nicer to each other. There's not much difference between a snob and prick. I wish the homeless, the snobs and the pricks would all just go away and find somewhere else to panhandle, discriminate and/or annoy. NBC Sports is going to take care of the whole lot of you. Well, maybe not the pricks since they already employ so many.
  10. Don't worry, NBC Sports will chase off those annoying, drugged up, smelly pan handlers. They will probably have to delocate to the Galleria parking garage to set up camp.
  11. It's hard to be too disappointed right now. The Texans had the greatest season in their short history and they are now an experienced playoff team with many positives to grow on. Next season should be even better. GO TEXANS!
  12. Good luck TEXANS in your second playoff game tomorrow. Never tell me the odds.
  13. CONGRATULATIONS TEXANS ON YOUR FIRST EVER PLAYOFF WIN!!! Not just a win but a BLOWOUT WIN! Life is good! In fact, right now, the Houston Texans are the only team in the NFL to have NEVER lost a playoff game!!! Enjoy the moment. Jinx and jinxers be damned. GO TEXANS - PLUCK the ravens.
  14. Good luck TEXANS in your first ever playoff game tomorrow.
  15. And just like that - Spring has an instant skyline. And Houston has another one to add to the already impressive collection. Cool.
  16. Let's get real. No one was ever going to build anything better than what was built. There are still an abundance of parking lots for other 'better' developments to build on if the market should ever demand it (or even if it doesn't). I have absolutely no problem with the city giving incentives to corporations that are willing to invest in things that could POSSIBLY make dt Houston better. It will probably take a lot more investing in projects like HP to cause dt Houston to make a significant turnaround. DT Houston has been void of a vibrant retail district for longer than most of us have been alive. I see HP as one piece of the puzzle and possibly (another) starting point. HP is infrastructure. Now that it exist, it MIGHT possibly amount to something very cool one day in our lifetimes with the right management or direction. If HP never existed there is no reason to believe that anyone would have ever built ANYTHING on those particular lots in the foreseeable future. I'm not saying that it could not have been better or that a residential component would not have made it much better. I'm only saying that I'm glad that anyone was able to get anything with even this much potential built in that area.
  17. I miss those 3 empty parking lots so much. House of Blues, Lucky Strike and those restaurants and shops are a very poor substitute for what was once a hotbed of social activity and life for downtown Houston for 100 years. Thanks Houston Pavilions for ruining downtown forever. If only they had left those parking lots alone another development corporation could have built something better in 40 years. Our grand children deserve so much better.
  18. It's too late. With 10 wins and 3 games to go and a clinched playoff birth and divisional championship, this CAN NOT be considered a disappointing season. In my opinion, the real goal of this season was to get into the playoffs for the first time. And they did it. Anything from this point on is just icing on the the cake. I certainly believe the Texans have the capability and potential to go all the way to the Super Bowl. But even if they lose in their first playoff game, this season should be considered a smashing success. Especially when you think about all the milestones that were achieved, winning game after game after game with all the star players injured and the pitiful state the team was in one year ago today. I think the Texans did the impossible in the win against the Bengals today. Watch the accolades pour in for this win. CONGRATULATIONS TEXANS and THANX FOR AN INCREDIBLE SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Told y'all this was a stupid idea. I think they should build a small refinery and warehouse district on those blocks. That would be easier and more cost effective. Get Real People!
  20. I'm glad you told me that. I was just about to file a lawsuit on the Regency Square developers because I'm tired of waiting for groundbreaking.
  21. What a fun, exciting, potentially positive game-changing idea for downtown Houston. The people here will absolutely DESPISE it. The last thing we need is any fancy-shmancy ideas getting us all worked up. We must never lose touch with that CAN'T DO attitude. No dreaming allowed. No exceptions!
  22. Nothing is more boring and excruciating than reading wxman posts. Oops! I hope I wasn't being too 'PR'. I wouldn't want to be held responsible for bringing down what is left of America. J/K
  23. EADO is the bomb! I can't wait to get back to EADO. EADO is going to have a great stadium. This brewery will be a huge draw to EADO. The last time I went to EADO, I drove all around EADO until I found a great spot in EADO to take photos of EADO. Then I posted photos of EADO all over the internet and set up a series of threads all titled life in EADO.
