Byron Miranda is gone?

I just read on Isiah Carey's blog that Byron Miranda is no longer on the air or on the station's website. What's going on over there? Someone else commented to look for more heads to roll soon. Anyone know what's going on?

And here we see the webmaster has photoshoped the family photos to make the Severe Weather Team smaller, but they still have Frank Billingsley upfront and center, as TJones might comment, looking like a douchebag, A-class douchebag!

Look at him being all dramatic with his arms crossed.

He looks tough!

But where's Radar?

But where's Radar?

He was too short to be in the photo, I actually read somewhere on this forum that they were minimizing his time on the air, I think everyone got "Radar overload", he was over exposed.

Anyways, how rude of us to talk about Radar on Byron's thread, poor guy!

Here is a quote from Byron's now defunct KPRC profile page.

Byron considers himself a friendly guy and wants viewers to know, "If you see me on the street, don't look at me like I'm crazy, just say 'hi.' Maybe I'll return the favor during the show between 5 and 7 a.m."

Well Byron. . . I don't think you will be returning that favor anytime soon buddy.

I knew bringing Jason Brewer meant someone was getting the ax!, I said so last month in this thread!

Damn I am good, too bad it was not Frank Billingsley though. <_<

I thought it was going to be Anthony Yanez at first, but I guess Byron Miranda was the real target. He was just so new, I would have never thought. And to think, he moved to Houston just for this job!:o

So what do you think is going to happen at Channel 13 since they just hired a news meteorologist?

LOL about Radar -- if you go to the "News Team" page on click2houston, the weather team is:

Frank Billingsley

Jason Brewer

Anthony Yanez

Radar The Weather Dog

From Mike McGuff's blog.

NEWS JUST IN:::::

Byron Miranda was fired as of this am (16 Aug 06)his name is off the website! and also the idiot who hired him is gone as well. So those of you who want our Wes back need to write to the new News Director at svalet@kprc.com, His name is Steve Valet. Let him know what you think and what you want. It is really ultimately OUR station because it is the people they serve and the commercials that pay them...so more viewers=more revineu from advertising and in the end more $ for the staion! Also ever wonder what happend to "Let me know what you think!" Wasserman the old director?? Yep he got the boot too. You don't see them asking us what we think anymore, but i feel we should let Valet know what we think and in force! So let it and and maybe we can get our Wes back!

There is even a petition to get Wes back, poor Byron. No love

Here is an interesting fact.

Byron Miranda was one of the super bachelors of 1999!

And just a related article here

Forecast cloudy for KPRC weathermen

By KEN HOFFMAN

Copyright 2006 Houston Chronicle

Where are they now? And more important: Where are they headed?

Former Channel 2 weatherman Wes Hohenstein, whose whereabouts generated more e-mails to this column in recent months than any other MIA newscaster, reportedly will take a job with a TV station in Raleigh, N.C.

Hohenstein left Channel 2 about six months ago. His replacement, Byron Miranda, didn't last long. Now many viewers would like to see Hohenstein back on Channel 2.

Admitting a mistake? That rarely happens in TV Newsville.

Another one bites the dust (Jason Brewer), and it has been less than 6 months since he replaced Byron Miranda, the turn over rate at KPRC for weather men is getting worse than the later seasons of Melrose Place cast changes.

Meet Eric Braate (right), how long do you think he is going to last??? I will say he is gone before the 4th of July at the rate KRPC is going. B)

They changed the picture style! Damn. I liked seeing The World's Most Dangerous Meteorologists.

:lol: No kidding, they looked so tough, especially the weather fairy up front. . . .yeah. . .I don't know if I like either, but I'd still go with the smiling picture of the recent version.

The whole serious look works for action heros movie posters, but not the local new weather team, good upgrade, but cheesey looking nonetheless.

I how do you know if he's a fairy or not show me some proof of your wild accusation.

Lord, I went over this many times, I work(ed) part time at a gay establishment and he and his boyfriend(s), causal partner(s), escort(s), or whatever he wants to call his entourage came in several times a year to drink and socialize.

He is not hard to miss the PDA, and he leaves really stingy tips for the bartenders.

Chuck George was a visitor too.

Most weather forecasters are, along with flight attendants, hair stylists and interior decorators.

On a side note about Jason Brewer, I found an article about him leaving.

Taking a job at WESH in Orlando, previous he was a Cheif Meteorologist before KPRC.

Frank has that position locked down and aint giving it up, so Jason had to move elsewhere to make it back to that spot.

You know...I can't believe how low you pathetic people are. None of you have ever worked there and had the opportunity to interact with them. You have the nerve to sit there and call somebody a fairy when half of you just stumbled out of a gay bar yourself. If that isn't calling the kettle black. How does that affect somebodies work ethic anyway? As somebody who knows them (anchors and weather alike), you would eat crow if you knew how professional everybody there was. Not to mention that Frank Billingsley could make even the dullest person laugh. They always made their interns feel welcome and always made sure we felt appriciated and needed. As for Radar, the station had a lot of heat from PETA. That's all I'm gonna say about that. I'd advise you to think before you speak.

If I have offended any of you...I really don't give a damn. You have offended me the way all of you have carried on about how terrible kprc is.

The only problem I had with Byron Miranda was his sense of style. His suits were just not very tasteful for a TV news show. Of course, his bad fashion sense fit right in with much of the Channel 2 news team - Dominique Sachse with her garish suits, gawdy jewelry, and frosted lipstick. Lauren Freeman isn't much better, and the morning traffic girl reminds me of Jackie from "That 70s Show". It all makes me long for the days of Chuck George, and I found him annoyingly chipper - but at least since he was gay he knew how to dress well.

The real person who needed to be fired was the person who thought it was a good idea to bring in Radar the Weather Dog. If there was anything that diminished KPRC's already flimsy gravitas as a serious and reliable news source, it was that.

And don't get me started on Roseanne Rogers "The Buzz Lady" who supposedly knows where all the hip new places in Houston are, and then recommends places like Drink Houston in the Marquee on I-10. What a clueless ho.

Drink Houston is so commercialized and I agree, Roseanne is a complete moron.

It is only directed at those who slandered the station and those who work there.

Yeah, every time you bring up a weatherman Puma goes into a gay fantasy world were all weathermen are homosexuals which is not true. if you all don't believe me just look at his Houston Media board post's.
