I have to agree. Are you talking about northbound or southbound? Last time I went to the island, I do not know if I were paying attention, but these views were not as noticeable for some reason. You still get the cool views headed north, but not for long.Instead you'll get some ugly barrier wall with a blue swish. The TXDOT engineers who designed this one must be from Lubbock. They had a chance to make the "gateway" to the city something special I wish they had done something similar to this with the lighting. That "Galveston" pillar isn't even illuminated at night. Trae Posted August 21, 2006 Share Posted August 21, 2006 I went down to Galveston and liked the new sign with "Galveston" on it, but they should have put lights behind each letter to illuminate it at night.
