citykid09
I thought It was neat that they decided to stay in Houston and rebuild their business. We always seem to talk about the negative latley but look at the postive in this. Just imagine how many New Orleans natives have stayed in Houston and plan to stay permanently and do business. What a big bust to an already growing economy!
Guest danax
Nice to hear that and hopefully they'll do well here.Yes, we tend to focus on the negative but the flood of NO people into Houston was kind of like a real flood; mostly negative in terms of crime and money, but once the waters have receded, there will be areas where rich silt is deposited that will add to the fertility of our urban pastures.Great cities historically have been anything but stagnant ponds, but the trick is not to end up with huge populations of poor and government-dependent residents. A little flood control is a good thing.

Montrose1100
New Orleans (Louisiana in general) have always added to the Houston economy. Almost every nurse I've met in the Medical Center (that was born here) is from Louisiana.
