Garden Ridge Becoming Flea Market

These indoor flea markets, to me, represent a downturn retail-wise in an area. They're just filled with the cheapest, tackiest stuff.

I expect a strip mall with a dollar store and a check cashing/ money transfer/payday loan place to spring up somewhere close by.

Alright, now I'm really being negative, but it could be seen as the further expansion/infiltration of the Greenspoint/Airline ghettopolis. Insidious infill, if you will.

...you mean, like Garden Ridge?

I tride GR a couple of times, but I can see why they weren't making good money in many of their locations. They are single-operator flea markets for the middle class.

Come on musicman, fess up. I bet that one time you walked out of there with at least one tin rooster. :P

No, I agree. That was one place that I could walk for what seemed like a mile and leave empty handed. But to go from that to an indoor flea market is a warning sign of impending ghettodom.
