Highrise Tower Posted February 17 Share Posted February 17 Found the 2nd build of Travis Elementary School. The photograph was taken in 1909, so I can imagine it was built around the same time frame/decade. I wonder the architect? Didn't Harry D. Payne do a lot of work for HISD around the same time? Also Jones & Tabor. I do wonder if the school was located at the same location as the current Travis Elementary School. The address to the current school is 3311 Beauchamp Street. I see there is additional park space at the site, called Travis Spark Park. I would assume the land was donated by the Travis estate, so it must be the same location? Ross Posted February 17 Share Posted February 17 The 1912 directory shows the school at the current location at 3309 Beauchamp.
