BWSchultz
LMFAO! He got excited over Austin?! DT Austin?LMFAO!!!Well, on a given Saturday night in DT Houston and DT Austin, there's a comparable number of people out. That of course being a product of many more places to go out in Houston other than downtown (and Austin being a college town). I'm not going to defend everything he says but I've had just as good a time, if not better, in downtown Austin than I have in downtown Houston. Of course, I've had a much better time going out in Houston's Rice Village and all along Westheimer than I have in Austin's " " ...??I think a lot of people here underestimate just how popular Bill Simmons is in the sports world. A sarcastic remark that he wrote a book and people bought it?? Really??

MiDTOWNeR
but the least he can do is explain just what is so awful about the place instead of just making snide remarks and complaining. Why? You guys wouldn't listen anyway. Also, this guy writes for the L.A. Times, and is complaining about HOUSTON'S traffic and sprawl? Oh yeah, good one! You sure got him on that one! TRAFFIC and he writes for the L.A. Times...HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Needs to get laid...haha, thats a good one too. Didnt you all go through this already after someone made some comments not to yer liking in regards to the world series involving Houston? The city is not well liked. FIX IT!!! Since you all seem to care so much what the rest of the country thinks about you. Oh but wait...ain't nutin' wrong with this swamp...I mean BAYOU. Gary
Now, the dude is just getting strange. LA can't pull off an All-Star game, either? They can do an Olympics, but not a piddly All-Star game? This follow up should make all of those whose feelings were hurt feel better. The guy has this vision of how it's supposed to work, yet virtually no American city can match his vision. It's not Houston or LA. It's him.I have to admit, the Austin thing was funny. Figuring out a city in one day is preferable to a city big enough that it takes several days to see it. That is actually my GRIPE about Austin. After one day, you've seen it all. Anyway, my orbit is still intact after response number 2. Hope y'alls is too. I don't understand any of this. Certainly Houston is not the worlds most pedestrian or cab friendly city, but to paint it as this jack ass did, shows a previous bias. We're apparently not that bad as the NFL and NBA decided to host there events here over the last two years. In fact from everything I've read, Houston was praised for the way they handled the Super Bowl last year. Lastly, I was thinking the same thing in regards to the Austin comment. I also love Austin, but to say you know a city in such a short time is rediculous. Pardon my language, but this guy's a prick with a very large chip on his shoulder.
