It may be a given to some, but I didn't put Saint Elizabeth together with Catholicism Found this explanation and history: Saint Elizabeth of Hungary - In her short life, Elizabeth manifested such great love for the poor and suffering that she has become the patroness of Catholic charities and of the Secular Franciscan Order. Also, it seems all denominations of religion had their own hospital.
