I was going to include that in my follow-up post with further details pertaining to the property (as I always do). However, the building itself is known as the Howard Cottonseed Oil Co. https://www.houstontx.gov/planning/HistoricPres/landmarks/14L299_Howard_Oil_Company_Seedhouse.pdf https://www.houstontx.gov/planning/AboutPD/news_releases15/Howard_Oil_Co_Seedhouse_and_Weingarten_House.pdf https://historicalcommission.harriscountytx.gov/Export Library/MarkerInventory-ListToPDF.pdf Edited December 29, 2022 by IntheKnowHouston
IntheKnowHouston
The warehouse at 1200 National St, which was home to the Howard Oil Co. / Howard Cottonseed Oil Co., is on the market. I think the property was listed for sale over the summer. Details from the sales listing: First time on the market in over 60 years. Surrounded by art studios, microbreweries, fine dining, chic residential - all flourishing amid lingering industrial, this urban industrial property is prime for redevelopment. This massive building (about 39500 sf. foot print) could be torn down but why not develop it for residential use? Approx. 50-feet high at its peak per owners. It's no longer listed on LoopNet and Compass. I think it was unlisted in September. I recall seeing the listing still active in early September. However, upon my last visit to the LoopNet listing a few days ago, the listing is gone. County records do not show a change in ownership. I'm assuming Mclaughlin Realty, LLC still owns the property.

strickn
They should be open today; but is it a sale only for $55-dues-paying members or is the public invited to visit?
strickn
I called and answered the question: the moving sale social media announcement was only to their members. The general public can't come in unless they've paid $
