Sometime in the last 24 hours, the restaurant's website went live. There is no mention of an opening date, however, on the site. Also, none of 1891's social media platforms include an opening announcement. Below is a photo of the restaurant's interior, which is from the website. 1891 / 1891 American Eatery & Bar replaces Berryhill's in the Heights. 1891 / 1891 American Eatery & Bar is open. I don't know if it opened over the weekend or today. The restaurant is located at 702 E 11th St, previously home to Berryhill Baja Grill. According to Houston Chronicle, the press release notes "1891 American Eatery & Bar comes from Australian chef Jason Gould, as well as Brad Serey (Common Bond) and Garza Management Group (El Bolillo and Common Bond)." More from Houston Business Journal's article today: The approximately 5,000-square-foot restaurant seats 100 people in its dining room plus about 30 to 40 on the patio. Houston-based Chodrow Realty Advisors represented both parties on the lease, and Ferenc Dreef, principal and owner of local design studio Kollectiv, was the interior designer for 1891. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/food-culture/restaurants-bars/article/1891-american-eatery-restaurant-heights-houston-18517238.php https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2023/11/27/1891-american-eatery-and-bar-opens-heights.html

flatline
Went on Friday. Food is excellent. Service is very friendly and hardworking, and it seemed to be fully staffed, but still working out the kinks, as one would expect for a soft open. . .lost tickets, etc. Will be a good addition to the 'hood once they find their groove on front/back of the house.

Agree, it was tasty. Also agree with the kinks. I just wish they had owned up to the mistakes instead of just relying on the “kitchen is backed up” line. It was clearly more than that. But of course will go back.
