City of Houston Parking Requirements

When I lived downtown (pre-COVID) I would notice street sweepers on Fannin and pease fairly regularly at about 3 am. And every so often I’ll see them in the middle of the night on a freeway. Besides that, I haven’t seen them outside of downtown at 3 am

I use to commute on my bike to work using Lawndale St. next to Lyondell refinery. They would sweep about once a year. All it did was move the dirt and trash from the curb to about 2 feet from the curb. I think they would get so full of dirt and trash it couldn't suck the debris up anymore.

Pretty sure Downtown District pays for that service. They even have a small one that they use for bike lanes.

Seattle gets excused because of its 37 inches of annual rainfall, but no excuse for Houston, which averages almost 50 inches?

I think it's OK because Seattle's is more a constant washing rain ("female rain," the Navajos call it), rather than the spaced-out torrents that Houston gets less often.
