editor
I subscribe to a couple of newsletters out of Japan. Here's a paragraph from one I got today:--:--All of Japan is watching the damage caused by Hurricane Katrina in horror.Located along the Pacific Ring of Fire, Japan is no stranger to disasters -- mymother came to visit us from the U.S. once, and she managed to experiencetyphoons, earthquakes and a nearby volcanic eruption during the short time shewas here. However, we've never seen anything on the scale of the currenttragedy, ever. All of us pray for the safety of everyone affected by theseterrible, terrible events. Talbot
I think it is very good that Japan feels that way for us and it is quite touching. So far the only countries I have heard about helping us is Japan and Britain.

GREASER
There was a list in the Chronicle yesterday. Most interesting Venezuela donating 100 MILLION barrels of gasoline. Wonder how that will be distributed? Also their oil co. Citgo (?) gave 1 mill. dollars.
Talbot
Today i have heard of a bunch of countries wanting to help, and it is very generous of them. I had figured others were helping, I just didn't want to name off countries because I wasn't quite sure which ones are helping.
