brian0123
So, while driving to San Antonio I saw a billboard that stumped me... Texas has a legal casino? It's called Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino: http://luckyeagletexas.com/ How is this possible? What's the history behind the place and why haven't other tribes in Texas done the same? Am I the last person in Texas to know about this place? I'm honestly completely confused why we don't have more casinos in the state if this place exists. stan
The Alabama Coushatta tribe had attempted one near Livingston many years ago but the state shut them down. I'm not sure how the tribe got away with it in El Paso.
Houston19514
Interesting! I was not aware of the El Paso casino either. Here's a Fort Worth Star-Telegram article that sheds some light. (Side note: Interesting that the Star-Telegram has an article about this proposed casino south of Livingston, which, as noted in the article, is about 240 miles southeast of Fort Worth. The major metropolitan daily newspaper located less than 75 miles from the proposed casino?... They managed to reprint the Star-Telegram's article.)
