Blue Dogs
After 20 years at KPRC-TV NBC 2 Houston, reporter Mary Benton is calling it quits and leaving the TV biz for good and going into the private sector, according to the Houston Chronicle and Mike McGuff of mikemcguff.com."It's certainly with mixed emotions that I'm leaving." Benton told mikemcguff.com. "I'm going to miss my coworkers at Channel 2. Most importantly, I will miss interacting with viewers that have become like friends and family. I was so blessed that I had the opportunity to tell their stories over two decades. I think what I will miss the most is being a voice in the newsroom and represent those that did not have a voice in the media."Benton's last day on KPRC-TV will be July 11th.http://mikemcguff.blogspot.com/2014/07/mary-benton-is-leaving-kprc-2.html?m=1http://www.chron.com/http://www.kprc.com/Benton's been there since 1994.Any reaction from ladies and gentlemen about Benton leaving KPRC-TV after 20 years? kylejack
The last time I remember a long time personality leaving, it was Jerome Gray and he was announced shortly after as the METRO spokesperson.
Blue Dogs
I'm still trying to find the video of Marlene Mc Clinton walking off the KHOU studios during the 5pm newscast in July 1999.
