RedScare Posted July 11, 2005 Share Posted July 11, 2005 Well, given that non-profits don't pay taxes, therefore becoming a drain on the tax base, and given the argument for eminet domain is the enhancement of the tax base, and further, that churches are usually on a bigger piece of land than an individual home, often in a better location, churches may well find themselves in the crosshairs of a developer.There have been numerous situations where a city tangles with churches when too many of them inhabit a city, lowering the taxable land. Some cities have attempted to limit the number of new churches for this reason.Maybe this procedure should be renamed "imminent domain".
