sinister1
Hi all, on my daily drive from and to work I pass in between where the old Ryon Addition and Collins Addition once meet but I see none of the old street names like Ohio or Iowa still exists but a short distance down I pass over a street named Los Angeles; I was wondering if Los Angeles street which is located very near the old neighborhood could actually be part of the old Collins Addition. Can anyone confirm? Thanks.
Ross
Here's the block book map http://books.tax.hctx.net/v010/002435.JPGIt looks like the addition was consumed by the intersection of 59 and 610. Ryon is to the South and West of this.

What caught my attention is Hirsch St. which is the only street still there. Edited May 18, 2012 by sinister1
sinister1
I see that Los Angeles St. sits just right outside of the map So I guess it was part of another Addition : ( but to know that Hirsch was is awesome. sevfiv
When were Ohio and Iowa streets around? I can't find anything about them..Los Angeles street runs through the "gardens" - Florida Gardens, Bonita Gardens, Crane Street Gardens, and maybe (or borders) Kashmere Gardens - the map above is Florida Gardens (Fairview --> Pardee --> Fairbanks St.):http://books.tax.hct...997_66_0006.jpghttp://books.tax.hct...997_65_0083.jpghttp://books.tax.hct...997_66_0118.jpgIt's also part of Ogden and you can see the scribbles around Los Angeles street:http://books.tax.hct..._28-29_0073.jpg
marmer
Interesting, it looks like in the original "Collins Addition" map posted above the street names were approximately in alphabetical order, even, apparently re-naming some existing streets. Please accept my apoligies, honest mistake.
