lockmat
This is kinda funny...This could be the world’s shortest “skyscraper.”Developer Larry Silverstein has threatened to cap the planned 80-story office tower known as 3 World Trade Center at a paltry seven stories if he can’t secure at least one major office tenant to commit to the building — and he’s nowhere close to finding one, sources said. The stunted building — which would be cut by a stunning 73 stories — will instead be a retail center, according to a report in Crain’s New York Business.Read more: http://www.nypost.co...O#ixzz1kPwqmsdu
Pumapayam
80 stories, love how that is so casual for them. Houston will take it.I see that they already have the base ready for 7 or 80, that's very last minute.
YakuzaIce
Was going to say it will probably be finished eventually since the foundation was made for a large building... Then I remembered the Metlife North Building. Nearly 80 years later and it was never finished. Of course it's probably more expensive to build an Art Deco tower than a glass and steel building these days.
Geoff8201
This is kinda funny...Read more: http://www.nypost.co...O#ixzz1kPwqmsduIt's the kinda funny thats more like kinda sad. Hopefully someone will lease... continued economic recovery, and time will hopefully mend this problem.Although, as I think about it... 3 WTC before was the Marriott... if leased office space fails, rather than downsizing to a retail center, they could make it a hotel... although an 80 story hotel is a bit much feasibly and other hotels have opened within viewing distance of the site, but wouldn't it be nice. infinite_jim
The Hurst Bldg was finished after sitting for more than 70 years and it is a blend of glass, steel, and a cast stone base.
