JLWM8609
I never paid attention until now when I was fooling around with Google Earth. There was a subdivision off of the Eastex Freeway, with streets like Lakewood St., Saunders St., Friendly Rd. and Dodson St. It was razed between February 2004 and April 2005. The streets were cleared sometime in 2009. TheNiche
Anyone know the story behind this one?Looks familiar. I'm pretty sure that it was a buyout by the Harris County Flood Control District.
sevfiv
Yeah, those have been owned by Harris County Flood Control since 2003 - the 2004 map on historicaerials.com isn't very clear but it looks like they're pretty much gone.
JLWM8609
I noticed the close proximity to that bayou. I wondered if that had something to do with it and your answers confirmed it. Thanks!
