I think the former site of Hubcap Grill, the burger restaurant at 1133 W 19th St, was sold recently. The Shady Acres property was on the market as recent as early summer.

Along with 1133 W 19th St, the sale includes:
 

  • 1122 W 20th St
  • 1130 W 20th St
  • 1138 W 20th St
  • 1127 W 19th St
  • 1137 W 19th St


According to property records on the Harris County Clerk's website, there is a special warranty deed pertaining to the aforementioned properties. The warranty deed was recorded in late July. BDT Enterprises TX, LLC is the listed buyer.

BDT Enterprises TX owns Moonshine Deck at 1239 W 19th St. The entity also purchased 1140 W 20th St in late 2021.

Following Hubcap Grill's closure in Shady Acres, restaurateur Ricky Craig asserted "the land at 1133 W. 19th St. is part of a larger parcel that’s being sold for a new residential development." However, that may no longer hold true.

Maybe the parcels will be redeveloped into a bar or a restaurant? Or it's possible the new owners may lease the property. I suppose we'll find out sooner or later.

  • 1138 W 20th St
  • 1127 W 19th St
  • 1137 W 19th St



Also grouped with the aforementioned parcels is 1140 W 20th St.

The properties are owned by the same entity. 

As mentioned earlier this year, a residential development was proposed for the parcels. However, that may no longer be in the works. Since the group behind Moonshine Deck (1239 W 19th St) acquired 1122-1137 W 20th St a few months ago, it's possible plans have changed. There could be a chance this becomes a bar or some sort of nightlife venue.

As mentioned in the above post, there are redevelopment plans for those properties. There are also plans for the adjacent parcels at 1130 W 20th St, 1140 W 20th St, 1127 W 19th St, and 1137 W 19th St.

I'm unsure what's planned here. Perhaps there are others with more insight willing to chime in.

A demolition permit was purchased last week for 1133 W 19th St. The site was the former home of local hamburger restaurant Hubcap Grill.

There are plans to redevelop plans the aforementioned properties and the following parcels:

  • 1130 W 20th St
  • 1133 W 20th St
  • 1138 W 20th St
  • 1140 W 20th St
  • 1127 W 19th St
  • 1137 W 19th St



As speculated in previous posts, the parcels are likely for a bar or restaurant. In recent photos snapped by @hindesky, there is a banner advertising the properties are available for lease. The property owners are seeking a bar and/or restaurant tenant.

It appears 1122 W 20th St is leased.

When the Shady Acres property was sold last summer to the proprietors of Moonshine Deck, I speculated a bar could likely go up on the property. That seems to be the case.

The name of the bar planned for 1122 W 20th St is Ibiza Lounge. It's a new nightlife concept from the owners of Moonshine Deck.

I don't know if the building for Ibiza Lounge will also stretch to the following parcels:

  • 1130 W 20th St
  • 1133 W 20th St (former Hubcap Grill restaurant site)
  • 1138 W 20th St
  • 1127 W 19th St
  • 1137 W 19th St
  • 1138 W 20th St


And if it doesn't, perhaps the parcels will become a parking lot for Ibiza Lounge.

As of now, I have not come across a website or social media for Ibiza.
