heights
Every day I drive past 11th and Heights and see the sign for the Melvalene & Carl Cohen Plaza. I swear I remember when they first put that sign up, it said "Melvene & Carl Cohen Plaza", but it was corrected shortly afterward. You can tell that the font used for the replacement "Melvalene" is narrower than the rest of the font, and there is less space between "Melvalene" and the "&" than there is between the "&" and "Carl". I know this was years ago and it's crazy that it still bothers me to not know for sure, but does anyone else remember or know if I'm correct? Thanks. toadfroggy
Love it that there's a grocery cart in the picture.
native_Houstonian
The correct name is Melvalene and Carl Cohen. The first sign was incorrect. Melvalene and Carl Cohen owned and operated Studewood Food Market (now Fiesta) on 11th and Studewood for years. Melvalene has been active in the Heights Association for years.
