jfre81 Posted September 13, 2009 Share Posted September 13, 2009 For the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Ike I share some shots before, during and after the storm. And then it came. This was near the peak of the storm, about an hour after my power went out. And then the morning after... And look what it did to my car. Cleaning up broken glass is fun! Now, fast forward to Thursday, September 18, 2008. Let's go for a walk. Starting near the Randall's at S. Shepherd and Westheimer. By then things were back to normal. Well, other than most of Lower Westheimer being without power still. Like I said, "most." Katz's was klosed. Seriously. The smell of rotting garbage was thick around here. Good stuff. Houston's favorite landmarks held up well. But we hunkered down, pulled through and we're better people for it. Hopefully it'll be awhile before the next one.
